I have three different IWB holsters:
  1. Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC Inside Waistband Holsters - Minotaur Holsters - products new home - Minotaur MTAC Holster
  2. Crossbreed Super Tuck SuperTuck Deluxe | Crossbreed Holsters - Super Tuck Deluxe
  3. Shielded Holster Shielded Holsters - Custom Handcrafted Holsters
The Minotaur MTAC is the highest quality holster with finished stitched leather on the front and the back of the holster it is also the highest in price but it comes with what Crossbreed would call their "Combat Cut" which they charge extra for. The price plus shipping should run you almost $100 for this very fine holster. Mine fits all my M&P's except for the Shield it fits my 9mm full size as well as both my 40compact and 40 fullsize and both of my 45's.

The Shielded Holster comes with a combat cut as well but the back side of the leather is raw cowhide, however it is not a problem when wearing and the rivets that hold the Kydex do not protrude and bother you while wearing the weapon and they use steel clips that go over your belt to secure the weapon, this was my first IWB that I liked and it also fits all my M&P's except for the Shield.

The Cross Breed Super Tuck is more pricey and if you opt for the different clips or "Combat Cut" then it will out price the Minotaur MTAC holster which I find to be the best of the lot, one day I will take out all my holsters that sit in a drawer and show what kind of money I have wasted on poor cheap holsters that just did not quite make the cut!

All the above holsters are good ones but in my opinion the MTAC is the best but at the moment they do not have Kydex molded for the Shield so I might mold some myself and offer that to others that have the MTAC at a reasonable price!

The choice is of course yours to make but sometimes it is better to sacrifice a little money for better quality and comfort as well as confidence in your holster that you wear every day!

Houdini,
You've really got me interested in the Shielded Holsters. I like what I've seen on the web site, and the company name has a draw for me too LOL :D

Yes your handle did come in mind when I decided to write a review, note that the Shielded Holster also comes with the Combat Cut unlike the SuperTuck and I believe it is cheaper. The main differences between all these holsters is the level (or depth) of concealment and the cant of the weapon the Super Tuck has four depth placement holes and you could adjust the cant that way also, the Shielded Holster has five depth holes and so does the Minotaur MTAC and the Kydex Mold is of superior quality in the Minotaur MTAC as well as the finish and stitching, it is a really well made durable comfortable holster!

Thanks for the info, I'm going to have to scrounge up some cash & get me a Shielded.

Did you use the Crossbreed 10% NRA member discount? It should make them comparable to just a few dollars. Although if you drop to the Spartan it is even less.

I actually prefer the Crossbreed clips -- I haven't broken any yet. I am also surprised that you rate the MTAC as more comfortable since it is thicker.

One holster not mentioned that is very is the CompTac CTAC. It is the thinnest of the bunch, although some folks do not like the feel of the all kydex holster vs leather.

Also noteworthy is that CompTac's turn-around time, which IME, is usually faster.

I should state that comfort with a finished leather instead of rawhide or if you choose horsehide is more comfortable to myself and with the extra effort in the MTAC leather if appreciate it!
