Smith changed the dovetail on the new 10 mm and now sights that would fit the other M&P 2.0 wont fit. Anyone have any ideas ?

I don't think those are for the M&P 10mm. According to the Trijicon site they fit Smith & Wesson 1006, 1066, 1076, 1086, 4013/TSW, 4014, 4053, 4054, & 4553TSW.

I have not been able to find any one that has them for the M&P 10mm.

What is wrong with the factory sights? On my mp 10mm they are dead on and point fast. If you put a red dot on you will need tall sights to cowitness

That’s exactly what is wrong with the factory sights. Too tall and no plans on using an RMR.

Agree, I have no plans for RMR or any optics either. My biggest dislike with the M&P 10MM so far (other then no Magazines available) are the sights.

Why would they change the dovetail? Have you confirmed this with S&W?

M&P 2.0 10 MM sight change

I orderd a set of sights for the 2.0 45 which should have fit. After removing the sights on the 10 MM it is very evident that the new dovetail is much narrower and it sights farther back on the slide. Talked to S&W and they at this time have no plans for lower sights. Talked with two different sight manufactures and they were not even aware of the rear sight change . The front sight has the same dovetail as all of the other fullsize (not shields )M&Ps ,so no change there. Luckily I have a friend who is an excellent machinist with a Bridgeport mill and now the sight fits.

Dawson Precision Core/Optic ready sight for rear and regular M&P 2.0 for front worked fine for me

M&P 2.0 10 MM sight change

I believe it was .162 ". On the sight. We did not touch the slide. Always work on the least expensive part in case things don't go as planned. I used a Meprolight sight because it was shorter in length. All of the other sights I looked at would have been too long and would have hung over the rear of the slide.

I'd really like to see a picture. I may well be doing this myself.

Just to confirm, you machined a small amount from the M&P 45 factory sights, and they were a fit???

The M&P 10 uses the same sights as all of the CORE models. As mentioned in Post #10, Dawson Precision has CORE sights that are "non-cowitness" (lower).

Thanks for the info, I plan on ordering those Dawson non-cowitness core sights. I wish S&W was more explicit about these things, but the info is much appreciated.

This is what the dawson sights look like on one.

I switch all sights to Tru Glo TFO and have been very pleased with the result. I don't do anything special with my guns, bang some steel and prepare for defense. If I was going to shoot competition bullseye I would probably with a Dot. Ultradot Match 2 or Vortex Venom. But for just shooting with good accuracy the TFO's work great for me and will fit on most S&W models.

Although the Dawson sights look great, I shoot my son M&P with tall sights very well. I find them a very well fit on his 4" 10mm. Not to knock the M&P but my Rock Island Ultra FSHC shoots circles around the M&P, way more accurate and target re acquisition is much better for shot times. I also shoot hot loads of 1250 to 1300FPS with 180 to 200gn bullets, no worries about blowing up the pistol. Plus it comes with a lot of factory upgrades for the $$$. Way more gun for the money. If you think you need to carry a 10 for self defense you need to work on shot placement. I carry a Shield Gen 1 in .40 with hand loaded to almost 40 major hollow point ammo, and it will do more damage than any 9mm round. 9mm velocity with .40 thump.
