So, my dad has an old Ramline mag for his 5906 that holds 17 rounds. He is looking for a few more but I cant find anything on Ramline. I did however find MecGar who makes a 17 rd mag for the 5906. Anyone have any experience with these?

When I carry my 659 I use a nickel plated 17rd MecGar magazine. It's proven 100% reliable, and it has a slick finish that is also very corrosion resistant. My spare mags are all blued 15rd MecGars because they were the cheapest and I could afford to stock up on them. They all have been 100% reliable as well. All of them are built well. I still have a few factory S&W mags but I like the slick finish on the Mec-Gars (don't seem to hang up as much in the magwell.

Mec-Gar mags are excellent, and an excellent place to buy them is Top Gun Supply.
I just bought 5 Mec-Gar Nickle 17-round mags for my own 5906 from them.

MecGar + top notch! They make original equipment mags for many top pistol brands like Beretta , Browning , CZ and others.

Ramline , well , umm , plastic , junk.

MecGar is the only mags I have for all three of my Browning Hi Powers, and I couldn't be happier. They are the best aftermarket mags I have found bar none.

Ditch the Ramline. We banned them at my old PD because of malfunctions and the baseplates falling off.

MecGar is a good magazine. Other than S&W factory, I wouldn't use anyone elses magazines except MecGar or ACT.

Mecgar magazines work well in my S&W's, and Sig's. The MecGar mags in 9mm and 40 S&W for the wide body Para Ordnance pistols functioned reliably but would not allow the slide to stay open after firing the last round.

I have a couple of Mec-Gar mags for my Para Ordnance P13. They are better than the factory mag and are 100% reliable.

I believe they make the oem mags for the SW99. They (mec-gar)are the only aftermarket magazine maker I trust.
