$828 is a good deal for any PC revolver IMO.
The Heritage run was pretty neat but kinda fell slightly short of the mark in several areas IMO.
I picked up two of the blue Heritage 17-8's ( pictured below , one wearing Herrets),
in hindsight should have looked harder for a case colored one too! that being said they are nice guns that would have been a homerun if delivered in a wood presentation case with a square butt grip profile wearing a quality reproduction SB pre war checkered Magnas (the tiny retro service stocks were nicely checkered and good quality but are ridiculously small especially on N frames) and last but not least they should have offered each of the PC Heritage guns as a 4" as well, especially the K22, ( maybe 3" and 5" offerings which seem to be in greater demand than 6" ?)
Also, WHY NO RETRO REGISTERED MAGNUM ?
Id have bought one in each barrel length.
The RegMag is probably one of the highest demand models and to this day still no repro offering ???
(Hint in case Lipseys is considering sponsoring a run), The old 4" M&P 22 ( Model 45) is a highly sought after rarity and a fixed sight 4" K frame 22lr woukd probably sell like hotcakes!
The Model 15 Heritage is kind of a head scratcher as all of the rest were styled after their pre war counterparts sans barrel ribs and might have been the only 4"?
(Wasn't the only pre war revolver with a raised barrel rib the Reg Mag ?)
Iirc the PC 15 is the only PC Heritage with a factory post war raised rib barrel style, almost like they had 200 more frames than barrels and someone said, dont we have 200 of the old Model 15-4 barrels downstairs ?
I dont recall if those were the original stocks but if so the the PC 15 is also the only Heritage revolver with off the shelf composite non diamond magnas which supports the theory they might have been an afterthought.
The Heritage series was a great run and stands out as a perfect example of what S&W can accomplish when they put forth the effort, but if they ever decide to undertake such an experiment again ( they should IMO) perhaps focus production more on a small run of the more desirable configurations.
