I was there with my Dad in 1999 when Jerry Miculek did the twelve rounds in 2.99 seconds. It was simply amazing! I still don't know how he did it on that day. It was literally 110*F in the shade of the tent that you see behind him.
How does the weight or construction of the cylinder have anything to do with this? He has already fired 8 shots in one second flat with an 8 shot 627 and .38 Special loads using a stainless steel cylinder. I don't think he needs a titanium cylinder to set any records.
