For over two months I researched the S&W 1911 9mm Pro. Most of the negative reviews were from years past so, I gathered up the $1100+ and went to GB. Went into this buy knowing the trigger pull would be near 5 lbs and the really beautiful grips were very fat. Got the pistol last week and it ran great, five different loads without one issue in 200 some rounds. It shot about 6" to the left and noticed that the rear sight was so far left that part of the spring cap for the firing pin safety was exposed, no big deal, just drift it to the right. The real problem, at least for me, was the issue of the slide being rubbed by the dust cover. After 200 rounds it made quite a mark, one plus inch long. Not good for an expensive "Pro" series pistol. Up to the Man Cave it went for a little clearance work. The marks were mostly removed with the scotch brite method, so, back to being happy. New VZ Grips are on order!

Last winter picked up a 9mm 1911 Pro w/adjustable sight lightly used for nearly what you paid new. Did have a large credit at the LGS so was sort of like mad money.
Have had some problems w/FTE,FTF but am thinking I'm the cause.
1. My 9mm loads are tailored for my 952-1 and are rather mild.
2. Had Carpal Tunnel surgery on my strong hand and suspect this issue both before and after the procedure may be causing me to limp wrist.
Have not been able to load some stiffer 9mm's but am hopeful that and being on the mend will solve the problem.
Did have my nephew shoot it, had a few problems but nowhere near the number I experience.
That aside it's a real nice pistol, look fwd to sending many bullets downrange w/it.
