Hey from South Carolina.

I'm an ultra newbie -- new to the sport and been doing a lot of research and forum "stalking". Finally took the plunge and got in line at Sportsman's Warehouse at 5:30 Friday morning. Well worth the wait -- got my MP15-22 for $399.

My son and I took it to the range yesterday planning on running about 100 rounds through it. 350 rounds later -- well, you know the story. The rifle is a delight to shoot -- can't believe there is not a law against having that much fun. Have already ordered additional mags for it and looking at scopes.

Love the forums. Can't wait to get back to the range.

Welcome from VA. This is a great Forum, you will learn quite a bit here and no doubt add to your collection & fun - that's how this works!

Nice hearing from a new happy camper spending quality time with their son(or daughters too) and liking their new AR15-22. Stay Safe and have fun. :o

Welcome to the forum.

We were all ultra newbies at one time. You are starting out with the right gun alright. I have gone through many .22 rifles before finally buying the 15-22 which is the most fun of all the ones I had in the past.

Welcome to the addiction! I live in Columbia, too (well, closer to Ballentine, but still Columbia). Where do you shoot?

Welcome to the club from a not so long ago ultra nub as well! Now I have an AR-15 and AK-47 bookmarking my 15-22 ;)

I shoot at Defender Sports in the Red Bank area (just off of Highway 6 and I-20). Indoor range. Looking for an outdoor range I can use.

Chris, I joined this forum just about a week or so ago. I was really in between buying the Colt AR .22 or the Sig AR .22 or the S&W M&P .22 after reading many reviews, talking to customers, talking to owners, then finding this forum my mind is set. No more wondering, pondering, or head scratching. I will be buying the S&W M&P 15 .22 that many people cant be wrong. This forum played a great part in my final desision on the M&P. If you look at the profiles here you will see there is a wealth of knowledge here. Glad you joined us.

Hope you have a fat wallet, because you are about to spend a lot of money! LOL
Enjoy your gun and be safe, welcome to the forum.

I <heart> that Sportsman's Warehouse in Columbia. I make it a point to stop there whenever driving thru.

Hey guys I'm in SC also NE cola area. I got my 15-22 at the gun show last weekend. I've been looking for an outdoor range as well. I found on the DNR website they have a list of all the shooting ranges in the state. I found one I really want to go to but it's a private club, Mid Carolina Rifle Club. They won't be taking members until the beginning of the year. Looks like they have a nice facility on their website. So until I can join that club looks like will be at PSA or Shooters Choice. Just thought I would share the knowledge on the ranges.

Welcome from Lexington South Carolina .My wife and three boys love going out with mine well its should be hers as much as she likes shooting it

Thanks to all for the encouragement. My 'Black Friday' great deal has now morphed into four (4) additional magazines as well as a whole lot of ammo.

I've fired about 1000 rounds through it with no problems at all. I took a guy from work to the range this evening to try it out. He has a lot of shooting experience. It was priceless -- he was almost giddy he was having so much fun.

Still looking for outdoor ranges and investigating scopes so I can expand my horizons. I want to start working on shooting at longer ranges.

I wish the prices for 15-22 rifles were that low in California. They always seem to run close to $500 around here. I'd buy another one, if they were $399!
