2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1

I daily drive a 2022 gt and absolutely love it, ive got a ridiculously long reach and long legs with a shorter torso, so most cars feel weird.... no issues whatsoever with the mustang.

A friend who's in his late 80's bought a Mach 1 with a manual transmission earlier this year. He showed up with it one morning when me met to go fishing. It's a beautiful car with an awesome rumble, but it doesn't suit me. The 5 of us got in my F-150 and headed down to the Detroit River for walleye.

He had ordered a Bronco, but delivery was taking a long time. He told them he might be interested in a Mustang if one showed up. A few weeks later, he got a call that a Mustang just came in. He agreed to buy it sight unseen. About a month later, his Bronco was delivered and he bought that too (Michigan winters)!

He seems like an unlikely Mach 1 owner to me. He drives slowly, avoids expressways and he doesn't like starting it early in the morning because he doesn't want to disturb his neighbors! I asked if he was going to sell it now that he's got the Bronco, but he said he'll keep it forever. He told us he always wanted a Mustang, the women at his church and the senior just center love it and several of his grandkids have called dibs on it!

ladder13, did you take advantage of the event offered in the second picture? If you did, how was it?

Keep the responses and pictures coming!

Larry, I don't own a Mustang, but did go to Spring Mountain in Pahrump last year. It was the thrill of a lifetime, even though I don't track my C8.

And after hitting it out of the park with some earlier models, they decided granddad should be able to have a Mustang too. Enter the 2023 4 door model. DUD! This is like the 1974 GTO when it comes to screwing up a classic.

Yes ... I drove an SVO for over two decades. I miss that car like a lover. it crushed my soul to see this abomination roll out.
EV? I'll entertain it if you produce it right. but SUV form factor?!?! that's not what it was ever supposed to be. Even Lee Iaccoca had THAT much sense. May as well resurrect the Pontiac Aztec

Hello ladder13,
Checking out the window sticker details..and what jumped out to me was the 3.73 rear ax ratio.
Ahh , the Good old days..My last rod was a last of the solid lifter Hi po 350 LT-1 Vette w 3.70 great and wide ratio 4 spd Muncie. I worked on it all the time , into a

Miss those days w daily driver old 70 Montecarlo

back then when younger w new family responbties..

All those high horsepower stangs are great but at age of 76, I want a eco-boost 4 cyl, automatic, white.
The Camaros don't look like Camaros, bad visibilty to the outside.
The current newer mustangs look like a Mustang.
Love the 69-72 fastbacks.

The '69 and '70 1st Gen Mustangs being my favorites, if I were to buy a newer one, I'd prefer one of the earlier 5th Gen cars, maybe a 2007 GT with the aluminum block V8 and 5 speed. I like the simpler body lines that are more reminiscent of the late 1st Gen cars.

Buy it, OP. BUY IT! You only live once on this earth. Heaven's Mustangs may be very different! I didn't wait for my midlife crisis to happen, I scheduled it. A few years ago I ordered a GT350. It still makes me grin. Admittedly it's not huge fun on the road, it needs to stretch its legs on a track. With the 8250 RPM redline, I can get a ticket in 2nd gear. Mustangs are seemingly the last gasp of the V8 musclecars. Get one while you can.

Rent one and find out.

Have fun.

EDIT: I can't comfortably fit in a pony car. Can barely get in and out without busting my head.

So....I bought a new F-150 regular cab, short bed (RCSB) with the Coyote V8. Had a custom dual exhaust fabricated. We're talking about a 4300 pound vehicle with about 400 horsepower and I can even wear my cowboy hat.

Due to my infirmities there is no way I could get into a Mustang, or a Corvette either. I'll stick with my F 150 with the V8 and dual exhaust.

The first consideration for me is whether TWO crates for Rottweilers will fit. Now we have one and an itty bitty 40-odd pound boxer (maybe BoxerXBoston), but I am planning that Ted's successor will be a Boerboel. Pretty sure that won't work with a Mustang or most other cars.

I guess I am in the practical crowd. I have a 2019 F150 with the 3.5 Eco Boost. Love it. My wife does too except when she has to drive around a crowded parking lot putting it into the garage. Plenty of get up and go. I can choose Eco, rain/snow, normal, tow, or sport mode from a button on the stick. 36 gal tank and plenty of room in the back for whatever. On road trips, I can get close to 800 miles per tank. When my wife is behind the wheel it is a little less.

I definitely agree with you here. I currently have a 2006 F150 with less than 70000 miles on it, and will keep it as the worker, hauler vehicle. There is NO way that I would ever get rid of my truck. I have a tendency to keep my vehicles a very long time. I bought it used in 2008, getting rid of a 1991 Ford Explorer which I bought new.

I figured out when I was a rookie that I'd just get in trouble if I had a fast car (or a motorcycle) so I traded mine for a pickup truck and never looked back. I enjoy RVing so I upgraded to diesels back in 2000. Latest rig is a RAM 3500 SLT CCSB 4x4 w/ HO diesel & Aisin transmission. Buying an SLT meant no sunroof, no two tone paint, or any of the other stuff I don't want so it's like starting with a blank slate. Not any cheaper than buying a loaded one but this one's set up the way I want.

I guess we all need a project vehicle. Life's too short, buy the Mustang before they quit aking them.
