22 straight wall centerfire

I would like to see a rimmed 22 centerfire cartridge that had straight walls. Overall length that just fit a normal length cylinder. .224 bore so you could load any of the regular jacketed bullets or cast your own.
Case length 1.160 (.145 longer than 22wmr)
case diameter 0.246 (little stiffer than regular 22 lr case)
rim diameter 0.295
small pistol primer pocket.

Tapered or bottle necked cases never work out right in revolvers.

Then of course J frames and K frames for the round. The K frame could be a 8 or 9 shooter

I love my model 18, and have hoarded quite a few 22lr rounds over the years, but it would be great to have a RELOADABLE 22 that could go from plinker to semi hot rod.

Once upon a time in a distant kingdom- Charles Askins supposedly lived in San Antonio. I asked everybody that I saw at gun stores, ranges, gun shows, etc if they knew him or had ever seen him. Nobody I could find had ever seen him. Most of them had also read that he lived there.

Thats funny. The cooper brass spec is within a couple thousands on all the dimensions I wanted. SO, really all I need is a thousand rounds of Cooper brass and a donor K frame to work over. I am sure the brass is being held ransom by a Sasquatch somewhere.

frankly, with the surge in reloading and the near unavailability of 22rf ammo the time is ripe for the 22ccm to make a resurgence. I've seen several posts across multiple forums for interest in just this cartridge.


ETA: Was just looking at some data and found the 5.7x28 is almost identical in performance to the 22ccm. The major differences being the bottle-necked and rimless case profile.

This is actually a good idea. Would be cheaper then 22 mag and you have the ability to load for accuracy and performance. Larry

So how does one get any brass for something like this. I am going to start looking for a donor K frame.

Getting brass is easy, just contact a brass Mfg. and submit the spec's and be willing to order at least 100,000 rounds to start with.
