I was minding my own business while browsing my LGS after a trip to the range yesterday when suddenly, I was violently attacked. A Superb 80's-ish, 6", 25-2 jumped out of the display case and slapped me in the face... ;)

Box, papers, tools, moonclips and reportedly unfired from the original owner....looks like it too.

It has never been a "grail gun" for me but it looks almost too good to pass up.

Asking $875.00. Please discuss...

I bought a 25 -2 from a friend for $750.
"as new -ish" fired very little.
nicely reworked presentation case plus tools.

IMO it's value is in what it is worth to you.

I am concerned that a lot of people seem to be speculating right now and that is driving the price up.
I think at some point prices will plateau and it will take time for values to start moving up again..
I buy something because it's something that I want. If value goes up nicely that's just a bonus.

If it makes you feel better, Im about to pay almost twice that for a PC 460

That's about the going rate in south Texas if you can find any! I paid 800.00 for one awhile ago. Most accurate S&W I have ever shot.

Thanks for the replies! I've always wondered about the .45 apc cartrige and just recently bought my first 1911 and love it! If I were to buy it I would indeed shoot it. I buy 'em to shoot!

they have one at the local shop with the 8 3/8 barrel for 849.00 it has however, been there for quite some time if that helps at all.

I've had a Series 70 Gold Cup and a 25-2 for years. I regularly take them to the range and compare results. They are both magnificent and I would never part with either one. Get the 25-2, you won't be sorry.

Cool info, there is a model 25 in an upcoming local auction that is supposed to be NIB. Might have to kick the tires a little.

I just bought a 625-8 which looks new, but no box or anything else, but I only paid $540!!!
I should be so lucky!!

To answer your question the $875 is in the ball park. As stated here I would ask for a bottom line out the door price. Also I don't see them every day for sale in my area either.

It may be near the top end, but certainly not over the top.

Not many around for sale it that condition. Haggle a little and maybe get some ammo thrown in. I have one that I traded a John Jovino model 60-1 even up to. Best trade I ever did. Mine would not be for sale even for that price.
