.32 Double Action revolver with 6” barrel & box sells for $4800!

It's a very scarce gun in that barrel length, with the original box, and someone wanted it really badly. The usual explanation for what many think of "aspirational" sales prices.

Hi There,

I get it this has condition, the unusual 6” barrel, and original box, but $4800 seems way over the top. What am I missing?

Smith & Wesson 32 Double Action Revolver

I'm with you and I don't get it either. Especially if one reads the
description:

" 6” barrel with a bright very good bore showing a ring of light pitting at the midpoint..."

Cheers!

Someone wanted it/them badly. The boxes are near impossible to find and specially in that condition. Both revolvers are way above average and from Doc Hudson's collection, but I couldn't justify those prices.

I agree. I get it the box is rare, but that’s a $1000 to $1500 revolver only because of condition and barrel length without the box. Maybe add 10% because of the original box still being with the revolver, but when you take that all away, you are valuing that box at over $3000. This makes a Registered Magnum box seem cheap.

Here are three without boxes more from Amoskeag. Looks like some buyer wanted examples with boxes really bad, but I must admit that I have rarely seen a 6" 32 DA box..
