The more I read about it, the more I am intrigued. If you have one, or have shot one, what are your thoughts?

I am considering getting one for EDC. Possibly home defense, esp for my wife to use.

I have one and am totally committed to the .32 mag. There is untold info on here about reloading for it. I finally settled for a 100 grain bullet at 1,000 fps. I had Lobo make a wonderful floral carved holster for me. It is a turtle murderer and 6 shots to boot.

Why would you even want to shoot turtles?

If it's for carry/defense .....No interest if ammo isn't readily available and/or inexpensive and the 327 seems to be neither

It is shown here post #4

It is a 327 Federal Magnum;)

They don;t make it anymore which is a shame as I did not like the 3" ported version,

The Ruger in the LCR should be a really nice gun, they have great triggers real smooth!

Reloading I can get the 115 gr XTP over 1200 fps.

I prefer it over the 640 357 Mag which is just to brutal and you do not gain that much in a 2" barrel.

Plus 6 shots, pretty much a +p+ 9mm,

Henry has finally come out with a lever action which I think is where the cartridge will shine.

I have one calling to me from LGS, but ammo is not available at a decent price, so I'm still holding back on that.

Yes, it is steep if you do not reload. kinda like 45 Colt.

The Federal American Eagle 100 gr SP is a screaming round,:)

Supply and demand

You can shoot 32 HR Mag and 32 SW long in it If those are less expensive.

32-20 Revisited.

From what I have read the round is basically a new and improved version of the .32-.20, which is an ear-splitter like the .30 Carbine. But I would think the round would eventually take off--I know the .32-.20 use to be immensely popular, especially if coupled with a carbine sized lever rifle.

About 2 years ago I followed up on a John Taffin article about a wonderful project..a gentleman in California was building 327 Magnums on Ruger Stainless Bearcats. They had 5 shot cylinders and I wanted one BAD! The man spoke to me for at least a half hour explaining all he had to do. Quite extensive. He said there was only the one and he had done it more as a "let's see if I can do this project". He had no idea what he would charge for one, but allowed the next one would be much quicker and easier. Well, it never happened. I thought and still think this would be a grand little gun. Oh well, as my Daddy used to tell us , wish in one hand and .... in the other. See which gets full first.

I don't see what it offers that I can't do as well or better with a .38 or .357. And ammo is scarce and expensive. And loud.

S&W made the M-631 in a different .32 Magnum, I think. It didn't sell well.

I can see it as a trapper's or backpacker's gun, but think there are better choices.

I'm not sure "immensely" is appropriate.

In equal size guns I agree, but I'm 5'-9" and have muscular legs from years of weight lifting and J-frame .38 feels like a baseball in my blue jeans front pocket. A scaled down Bodyguard or Centennial revolver with a slim 5 shot cylinder in .327 Magnum would seem like the perfect pocket gun to me.

Shoot a 357 Magnum in a J frame then Shoot the same weight bullet in a 327 Federal J frame and you will tell the difference.

The 327 Federal claims to be near the energy (aka stopping power) of a 357 magnum. I do not agree entirely with that but it is a potent round,it is better than a 38 special +P at any rate,

The old bullet weight and velocity equation again.

Why do folks what revolvers in 9mm and have to use moon clips??

As to noise well all guns are noisy. With a 357 Mag in a J frame you are lucky to get off a 2nd shoot and it it is deafening,
