Greetings. I have recently acquired a 38 S&W Special CTG 6 shot revolver.
There is no yoke model number.
It is a hand ejector model.
The butt serial number is K 248####
It has a 4" barrel.
It has hand ejector post war adjustable sights.

Can anyone tell me more information and the approximate age of this weapon?

Thanks.

You most likely have a pre-Model 15 or Combat Masterpiece .38 Special with a serial number range falling in the year 1955. This is according to the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson 3rd edition. Other more experienced forum members may be able to shed additional information. Some photos would be helpful.

It is a .38 Combat Masterpiece. It likely left the factory in late 1955 or early 1956.

Here are some nearby serial numbers with confirmed ship dates:
K248929 shipped February 1956
K249085 shipped December 1955
K249120 shipped January 1956

All of those are .38 Combat Masterpiece revolvers.
