I've purchased two this year; four if one settles for the everyday "vanilla plain" 3913.
The reason I threw in that last reference: While on the business road, happened upon was a previously unknown (to me) gun store whose owner said, "I just happened to take in a Lady Smith on a trade" earlier the same day. It was a gun he "really didn't want" but took it because the longtime customer bought a long gun at retail.
It was a 3913. A nice one, too. Bought it for cheap and even after I explained to the fella what made a 3913, a 3913 NL and a 3913LS.
Of my two 3913 LS': one was purchased over the 'Net for $731 (landed) and had all that came with it from the store, and that's essentially the exact way it was, too. I know for certain that the gun had been fired one time; the casing was still the box. The soft case had an attached tag, it was in an unopened factory plastic bag. I've seen these examples go to over $900 online when stupid-crazy bidding was underway (the poster above put it much more kindly).
The second 3913LS came in at $624 landed, throw in the $33.00 worth of gas to fetch it and we're getting in the neighborhood of the one above. The drive was pleasant, though. It, too had all the factory goodies, save the fact it'd been used far more than the first but it was in very good shape, having no extraneous marks on it. When cleaned, it rated excellent and was worth still more just because it was primo clean. (Folks: Should you really want the money you're asking for a gun, clean the damn thing for goodness sakes!).
Intended for the marketplace for the inevitable Lady Smith Christmas-buying surge, it was lost to a family member when Daughter No. 2, a permitted concealed weapon carrier, saw it.
When Daughter No. 1 saw what Dauther No. 2 had, she wanted one. So went the second 3913 LS to yet another permitted carrier and my profits for awhile.
Though now obviously mistaken, I thought this whole "She's got one; I want one!" thing would be done by the time my dear daughters reached 25 and 26 years.
Unless "stupid dumb" not to do so, it is unlikely I'll be buying any more 3913 Lady Smiths until January, when the gun-owning blues (for whatever reason; I care not) hit and quite a few very nice guns hit the market post Christmas and Hanukkah buying.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
