Hey guys,
I've had these two 3913 tsw pistols for quite some time and have noticed that prices are extremely high on online auction sites when I see them come up for sale. I understand why people Love this pistol. I'm thinking about selling possibly atleast one. What's the about price for one as new? I have everything they came with including mags. I just don't want to cut myself short on selling but also want to set a realistic price for a buyer. This photo is of both pistols and an awesome review of the pistol model from combat handguns magazine circa dec/1997 issue.

Box and paperwork still together? I'm no expert by even a long shot, but I just paid 6 bills for a 3913 NL like new with box and papers. Slight difference in the shape of the lower front of the frame is the only thing that seperates them. Great pistols! Lots of folks love the old single stack thin profiles. Wish I could afford one of them. :-)

ANIB 3913TSW? I think a reasonable price to ask would be $650.00. Start there and see what offers you get. You can always lower the price, but it's hard to raise it.

If you want to sell one, I will give you $600 for it. Been looking for a nice 3913.Send me a PM if you want to "do the deed."

Pardon me for a moment while I clean the slobber off of my keyboard after seeing that pic of your twins. :D

Honestly, if they were mine, I would not sell unless I absolutely had to. That said, and if I were to put one up for auction, I would start at $750 because these are truly, truly fine pistols.

You might consider offering it here on the Forum first before dealing with GB, as I believe people here more fully appreciate this model than Joe Buyer on GB does. A package like yours sold on GB not long ago for $675; there's one for sale now for $925, but that's way high.

I traded one not nearly as nice as yours, and without the box, for about $600 worth of ammo I wanted for my 356TSW. Loved the pistol, but needed the ammo more.

I wouldn't sell them either. No way José! I'd give up food and heating the house first. :D Maybe even sell my car before giving up those beauties. :p But if you have determined that you absolutely must sell, do not start low. If you ever feel the need to replace them later, they will not come cheap.

Good luck with whatever decision you make. Those 3rd gens are great pistols.

The big issue is that they will be close to irreplaceable......so think long and hard........

As an aside you can get a 3913/14 down to the same butt size ....if you can find one of the factory 7 round steel baseplate flush fit magazines....IIRC one of these originally shipped with the early LadySmiths along with a 8 round magazine.

I, too, am in the "don't sell" camp. I am fortunate enough myself to own one of those fine Model 3913TSW's with box & doc's, & I can remember the difficulties I had in obtaining it. I narrowly missed several opportunities, then a pawn shop that did a lot of FFL transfer work for me got one in, didn't hold my feet to the coals & dealt with me more than fairly, giving me a great price. Sooner State Pawn in OKC...man, I miss dealing with those guys! To have two of those beauties, with box & doc's, that blows my mind just a little. Do what you think is best, but I would think about it hard!

I have a like new pre-rail 3913TSW with the box, papers, brown wrap, etc. and five 7 round mags with the proper flat floorplates. Scored it from the original owner who had shot 14 rounds through it. I put maybe 100-150 more down range but don't shoot it much now.

Like you, I recently considered selling it and even posted mine on a local forum. After a couple days I took it down. I have sold too many guns in the past several years which I regretted later. My rule now is if I can not easily replace it, it stays.

Then again, as these get closer to $650-700 on a regular basis, it is gets harder to keep.

I read this post last night, and wanted to post what I was going to pick up this morning, but did not want to jinx myself. So now that it is in my possession as of this writing, here it is:

A 3913TSW (rare or very low volume 7rd magazine pre-rail) with original box, documents, and 2 7 rd S&W mags. From my understanding and readings, this model was made in very low volume and maybe from 1-2 years.

This is my holy grail and I know they are very very hard to come by. You can find them in the 3913 and 3953 from time to time, but not often at all do they come up in the solidly built TSW model.

Point me towards another one under $700, and if you don't buy it let me know.

The pre rail 3913TSW is one superb firearm. If you shoot that puppy you will be thrilled. If you dont, you will be missing something special.

Best,
Richard

The pre rail 3913TSW quickly replace the CS9 as my go to self defense carry pistol. Light, compact, accurate.

I carry is just about every day. Mine is a shooter, not a collector piece.

I know what you mean. I have a railed one in 98-99% condition with box and I think 5 magazines. The trigger on it is just so clean. And it is a single stack which is nice. Plus with the light gray grips on it, the thing is really sharp looking. I know I'd never be able to replace it but goodness it is getting into the price range of some of the 10mm's I like so much as well as getting close to the price of a decent used 41 Mag that I hope to someday find.

Thanks guys! Been busy with work past few weeks.
I know, I know... Soooo tough.. Have gotten some good offers, not desperate to sell but would be nice to put the money into something I would use.. I didn't even shoot these this past year:(

I am a very big fan of all 3rd. generation S&W Semi-Autos. The 3913 series and all its variations are at the top of that list. As mentioned above by a very astute poster; "Think of them as money in the bank." I would like to modify that statement in my words; "Think of them as BIG money in the bank.". Keep one unfired and shoot the heck out of the other. When you do sell the fired one will bring almost as much as the collector version to someone that knows what a great handgun they are and desperately wants one. IMHO, the 3913 series is the epitome of self protection CCW handguns. ................. Big Cholla
