Hey everybody I'm new here not to sure where I should post this. I love my .40 Shield but recently since S&W has had it I'm beginning to get a little frustrated.

I sent my Shield in to S&W for the trigger recall. They said I would have it back in no more than 7-10 days. I sent the firearm in 10 days go by no firearm has came back. 13 days go by and I start to wonder. Finally after about 21 days I called S&W about my firearm. I waited on hold for about a half hour to hear "Wow we have had your firearm a while." "We have inventory going on and nothing moves at all." I told him I don't understand why I wasn't told this when I scheduled my shipment. Inventories are not just a spur of the moment thing is it? S&W did not try to contact me via e-mail, telephone, or anything I think this is very poor of them. They have had my firearm now 25 days and S&W told me another 7-10 days which will put me at 30 or more days without my firearm.

I tried emailing through their website but my response I got from them was simply "Your gun will ship in 7-10 days." Anybody know of another way to talk to somebody? My first pistol purchase has been kind of disappointing. What would you do?

I'll bet there is a reason for it. Why not call Customer Service at Smith? In years past, when repairs went through the Custom Shop, they really took much longer but did very nice work. Perhaps CS could tweak the system for you.

Even companies that make good weapons are full of bs from time to time. The person you called should have expedited you service. But they are human, not automatons

It has now been 30 days (not counting weekends) also was told 7-10 more days AGAIN about 12 days ago. Last Friday a guy called said it was shipping... still nothing

Be nice but firm. Call and ask to talk to a CS super. If not satisfaction there, then ask for the Dept. head. I'll bet you never have to go that far. Always be nice, but firm. Don't let them BS you. No one likes their boss finding out they can't handle their job. Did I say be nice but firm?

I get it. I always am. Its just getting very annoying. 31 business days and 48 total days

Well talked to customer service and after about 45 minutes I got transferred to 4 different people, and nothing got solved. Previously they looked up my firearm by serial # and told me where my firearm was. Now they told me that they will submit a request to see where my firearm is and it will take 7-10 days? What in the world is going on? Anybody know how to get through to a person with some authority or something?

mine took a little over 14 days to get it back to me, I would keep calling & emailing them until they get tired of it.

Time is up. Call and ask them to refund the purchase price of your gun. Then follow up with an email to document the conversation.

My experience with S&W customer service is that they are nice and respectful people who are poorly managed.

Try this number: 413-781-8300 and ask for the office of Mr. Debney (CEO, President and Director) or Mr. Michael J Brown (VP of US Sales).

You most likely will not get past a personal Secretary, but raising Cain with these people might get you at the least a return call from someone that can make things happen. When you gripe to the right group, things get done.

Good Luck!

Write a real letter (paper, usps stamps) etc. to the head guy.

Send it certified mail , return receipt. This is only to be sure it gets where it's addressed.

Keep a copy of your correspondence.

Be very courteous, recite your experience.

Ask that they fix and return your pistol or that they replace it or refund the purchase price.

Phone calls and e-mails are obviously ineffective.

We're living in a time where people just don't give a big ****, customer service of the past is just that, the past. Here is the new deal, they have your money and now they could care less, so just shut-up and wait till they feel like it. Sorry to be blunt, but it's that way from the government on down, people just don't care anymore. Green Face Mad, with a big furious smile :D
