Hello gang!
Finally picked up my 4006 today from Ca gun-jail (10 day wait). I acquired this from a forum member and I have to say that this gun shot from being a "cool" gun to being my absolute favorite pistol in my collection hands down. Thanks to another forum member I now have 7 magazines for it too which means I have plenty of shooting to get caught up on with it
I've done a lot of research over the past 10 days anxiously waiting and other than weight, don't think I've read a single bad things about this. It had some grime or surface rust under the grips (police trade in) but the bore and the guts are immaculate. I also swapped in a bobbed hammer in place of the spurred hammer which I really like. ...the rust came off with a brass brush and some Slip2000 btw.
Are there any "dont's" with this gun? I kind of want to purchase a second 4006 just as a spare since they don't make them anymore, but they don't come up very often it seems. I wish Smith still made these.
Now I just have to get my Model 66 out of jail...
