Howdy folks! It's been a while. Got distracted by life events. So I have this unusual 4013 decock only that some of you may remember. I had posted about seeing one just like it, but marked CSPD on a snall blurb I found with Google and that was all I'd ever seen. I got in touch with the folks at Lew Horton and they had a record of selling mine, but that's all other than the slide was melonited. Veterans of the forum told me to let it go because it was a small batch of 50 and S&W was maybe experimenting with parts as they liked to do in those days. Fast forward to today and low and behold a CSPD marked gun exactly as I described it is on one of everyone's favorite sites. It was also accompanied by a Roy Jinks letter.

Notes: Smith & Wesson 4013 Special Production Issue, Shipped November 11th, 2002 to Colorado Department Of Public Safety, Denver, CO. 150 units were made and are marked with the Colorado state seal. Serial range of VKN9517-VKN9672. This pistol letters as being the promotional prototype that was used by the sales department to promote this offering.

The same letter also said that a small overrun were sold through S&W distrubtors. My S/N falls between the ones listed in the letter. Should I be excited? I'm guessing it's part of the over run because the CSPD guns went through Oklahoma.

PS. While I was away I also picked up an almost minty 4014 to go with it. :D
