I just got one of these a few weeks ago and put it through the ringer. I'm amazed at the difference of the trigger and action compared to a regular j frame. It feels so much smoother and lighter. The polished trigger is a nice touch and the cylinder along with all the screws are stainless so I'm not nearly as worried about corrosion as my other 442. I was shooting this today at 100 yards with my reloads and was keeping shots on a IDPA torso sized target. I couldn't believe it. I shoot this thing as well as I do any of my full sized semi-auto pistols. This thing rocks.

If I'm correct, from the features you describe, you have the 442PC produced for Chattanooga Shooting Supplies (nice firm, BTW). Glad you got a good one. I bought 2. On one, the sideplate screws loosened from shooting. You may want to check them. On the 2nd, the DA 'froze;' my gunsmith smoothed the underside of the rebound spring guide (proper term?) and all is now OK.

I find QC today rests primarily on the individual gun and not on the frame/model logo. Good shooting and enjoy a great gun!

I've only shot about 300 rounds, including 50 plus P's, and I enjoy the heck out of my Chattanooga 442 too. I'm real happy with the trigger pull on mine also, so far so good. It's my first J-frame and is more accurate than I expected .

Just to add, one of my favorite features, besides what's been mentioned, is the radiused, polished trigger. I'm really thinking about getting it done to my new 686. It's a world of difference to me over stock.

I remember reading your post when I was thinking about buying it. It is indeed the Chattanooga SS model. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I've put probably about 200 rounds through it.

Thank you for acknowledging my posts! In the past year, I have bought 5 PC J-frames: 2 442 "Choo-pintos," 2 642s, and 1 637. Nice guns, but little different, if at all, from standard production Js. None of them can approximate, or even approach, the quality and smoothness of the much-maligned "Wyatt Deep Cover" 637 PC revolvers of, IIRC, 3 years ago, and the 442s required work.

I can't have bought the only 5 "Friday/Monday" items. I wonder what changed in the interim...
