I bought a .45c and just wondering if anybody has the same firearm and how they like it, don't like it. I want to hear everybodys thoughts on the firearm.

Love mine!

It's soft shooter, accurate and a good size for EDC...though I normally carry a PPQ or Glock 19.

I've got an Apex trigger set up in my M&P 40, and am thinking about it for my 45 Compact.

Enjoy!!

George

Good to know. I bought it mainly for EDC. Soft shooter, easy follow up shots good stuff. Apex trigger? Is the stock trigger on the M&P really as bad as people say it is?

I have carried a 45c for about 5 months. It replaced my M&P9c, which I still have. The trigger on my 45c was just fine out of the box. My only complaint is that Crimson Trace does not yet have a laser grip for the compact. I did install a CT Rail Master to use until they come out with a laser grip.

I have about 900 rounds through mine so far with no malfunctions of any kind. I carry it in a White Hat IWB holster all day, every day.

I absolutely love my 45c.

I carry it in a Desantis Intruder; in this holster it's more comfortable than my Shield is in a Pocket Tuk.

I call it my "Fat Shield".

I love my 45c...wouldn't trade it for nothing. Put the Trijicon Sights on it and the Apex DCAEK in it, and to me it's the perfect size, weight and setup.

Did I say I love my 45c?

I'm glad to hear everybody that has .45c is happy with it! It took me forever to pick this particular firearm. I pick mine up today and I'm STOKED.

I own two and a FS. Not an issue with any of them. Two of the three are Apexed. The FS has a burwell trigger job. JMHO, apex it and you won't regret it. Minimum would be the sear and USB. Best thing about the M&P45s, pull the trigger and they go bang. Only a hiccup once in a LONG time with my reloads, else they work flawlessly. They all have tritium night sights. Lately I've been using the Truglo combo. Fiber works great in the daytime and they glow well at night. There have been some good deals lately on these so that is also an aftermarket item you may want to consider. LGS is selling/installing them for less than $100. If you haven't installed the apex USB before getting the sights, they'll typically drop it in for you at no charge when installing the rear sight.

No. The trigger on the 45C is just fine. Some people have the "hotrod" gene and feel the need to have an excuse to modify their firearms; and that's okay if that's what you're into. But the stock trigger is quite good after you have put a couple hundred rounds downrange and it smooths out.

And in the interests of full disclosure - you may want to read your manual, particularly the part about how aftermarket alterations affect the warranty.

I finally got mine! After shooting, and dry firing the firearm I actually really like the trigger. I like the weapon alot. I don't think I will ever change my trigger. Now night sights that I will be doing for sure.

I wasn't nearly as impressed with the factory trigger on my 45c, or maybe I was just impatient and wanted a nice trigger now. Anyway, the Apex DCEK is just what the doctor ordered! All 3 of my M&Ps have Apex parts.

My suggestion, find someone who has theirs Apex'd and compare. If you can't feel a noticeable difference, then by all means stay with what you feel comfortable with. Myself, I prefer having the 2nd stage of the trigger pull kick in later (I.e. closer to the end). Less chance to pull the shot. That's where the Apex sear helps.

If you are going to install night sights, The USB is a drop in replacement that typically the gunsmith will swap out for you when the change the rear sight. Its polished and rounded more so than the stock. That's not guaranteeing a completely smooth trigger pull but will help. There are a couple other contact points that can be polished or may get smooth over time.

For us "hot rods" that can't help ourselves, always keep the stock parts in a little baggy so the firearm can always be returned to stock. These are drop in, proven, replacement parts. You're not shaving any metal/plastic or altering the frame/slide in any way.

So far I've put a few hundred rounds down range, and I have no complaint about the trigger I actually like it alot. After shooting Glock for a long time my M&P 45c is what I've been needing the entire time i wasn't happy with my glock ha. The trigger is pretty decent not alot of play around to mess your shot up it feels like to me. I really want to try the other triggers tho just to see how they handle. I may just buy and go with that lol.

I only have a couple of hundred rounds through mine so far, but really like it - the factory trigger is okay for me so far. I used to love my Glock 30, but the M&P ergonomics are SO much better - it just fits your hand.

I'm considering dumping the Shield and getting the 45c. It's just so much wider (than the Shield), and I've hard a hard time convincing myself to switch. Plus I'd probably loose my shirt since i have the safety model, plus Apex mods, extra mags and holsters, you never recoup any of that really...

Maybe I should put a WTT post up lol...

Or, relegate the shield to a golf bag gun, and pick up the 45c

I put the Apex USB in my 45c because the trigger was gritty, that mod made much of the grittiness go away. I put the Apex hard sear in and kept the factory springs. Trigger pull @ 4.5-5.0 smooth pounds.

Gun is a shooter, very accurate and it's carried in a Blade-Tech IWB rig, for me, a great set up, works summer or winter.

I've had two M&P 45C's. When I bought the first, the only change I made was to add Ameriglo sights with the U-notch rear. Excellent gun. Having owned a number of Glock 30s and 36s, I found it to be far superior ergonomically. But, a buddy of mine came into a 3" 65 and offered up a trade. Knowing I could get another 45C, I jumped with the intent of getting another 45C as soon as possible. In the mean time, Glock came out with the 30S. I decided to give it a try. Nice gun, but still not the ergonomic equal of the 45C. A result, I bought another 45C. The only modification so far are replacing the stock trigger with the Apex polymer trigger. Outstanding pistol.

I like mine but I think it is too top heavy but, still nice. My carry gun is a G23 pretty accurate. I like my XDS 45 the best great shooter and light weight.

have the full size, looking for a compact now, with thumb safety, all I find is with no safety.
