Matt's Bullets sells slugs along with ammo. I have positive personal experience with their slugs, I don't buy commercial ammo for the 500, I reload for it.

They also make neat shotshells with 3/4oz of #9 shot in them for the 500. I emailed Matt about the idea of using say #4 shot like CCI is offering for the .357. That would make it a much more capable cartridge as penetration with #9 is lacking based on my shooting a 1X6" pine sheet with it.

He said he's working on it. Don

I've had him bookmarked for a long time. Been wanting to try those shot shells but haven't had the extra dollars yet....

Good lord, what do you use a 500 shot shell for, pterodactyl? :D

Well like all pistol/revolver shot shells, the rifling spins and enlarges the shot pattern. Having said that if you shot a rattler a comfortable distance outside its strikning distance, it'd make a real mess of one.

I made some shotshells myself. Two fiber wads over the powder and one on top of the shot. They were inconsistent, some very potent, others had less than optimum patterns. Don
