My 586 no dash is the best balanced revolver I own, and is a joy to shoot. It has replaced my well used and beloved M-19 as one of my "ready" guns.

Wow, a 2009 post comes back to life! I'll play too. I just got a 586 no dash on a trade from another member. Very clean, and a good shooter. Is a no dash 4". Right up up there with my other favorites. Wonder what the 8 incher would be like??? Bob

Here's my 6" 586 that was bought in the first year of production - AAA series sn. This gun was used to gain my NRA Police Distinguished Badge. High front Patridge sight that allows for a 50 yd neck hold on the B27 target. Great, accurate gun with an unbelievable action.

I had one in Texas but it was stolen. I loved mine and have been looking for a four inch for some time now. I always wanted one after seeing it the hands of the villain in Lethal Weapon 3. He does have a model 29 for mos t of the movie, but he pulls one on the Captin when he kidnaps him.

I might as well go ahead and start to use/carry mine now. I saved the gun but the box and "stuff" was lost in the fire.

Here's mine. I bought it quite a while ago and haven't had the time to shoot it yet (work gets in the way a lot). I carried a four inch 686 as a duty weapon for a number of years before switching to a Beretta 92G. I really like the balance and especially the durability of the "L" frame.

I got a long one.

586 no dash 8-3/8 barrel, even with my old eyes I can see the sights on it. Very accurate.

Model 586

I have a model 586 4" that I bought (rescued) from a pawn shop quite a while ago. $400 bucks cash out the door. It is probably the most accurate handgun I have. I went to sight it in with RP 125 grain mags, shooting at about a one inch black circle at 15 yards. I fired all six and thought I missed the Target completely. Went to take a look, and all six had gone into the black.....killed a sparrow with one shot at 25 yards with the same gun and load. He just kinda.....disappeared. Well, except a foot and wing. I later bought a 586 with 6" tube, but times got hard for a while, and it left my possession. The short tube never will.
