how do you like your 696? I'm currently waiting on a seller to call me with a price on a no dash.

Yes, I really like the 696. I regularly carry one, the other sits in the safe. I like the combination of the L frame’s size and the
44 spl. I’d buy a third no dash if condition and price are right.

Another "necrothread". Sorry, no group photo but here is a listing. If anybody wants to see a specific gun on the list, just ask and I'll post a single photo of the requested gun.

686-6 - Unknown contract overrun, 3" / 6-shot, .38 Spl

I kinda like oddballs.

I got into L frame very late just in the last couple of years but have managed to obtain two 686-4s. The 2.5 inch has been done over similar to the factory “combat revolver package”. Stocks are Eagle Sambar Stag. The 4 inch is perfect just the way I obtained it. Beautiful action on it. Hogue “factory seconds” from their auction site they used to run. I’m still trying to find the right grips for it. Just bought a set of Uncle Mikes Spegel conversion round to square grips off the forum.
Years ago I passed on a 581 at $400 because it had some surface rust. Still kick myself on that one. And I missed some surplus 681s our company was turning in - could have purchased at $399 but I didn’t get to tag one I had picked out and missed out on it.

Recently upgraded my LH 686 no dash to a nicer one with original grips. Than I happened into a set of unfinished Hogue's from the early 1980's.
