610-3 firing pin

Is this normal for my 610 or do I need a new firing pin. Doesn't look like any of my other Smith's.

Looks like one of the reduced mass firing pins. I'm not sure they are still using them, or if they are aftermarket. Can't find any info about the pins online. Sorry.

Is this a new revolver?

That is a S&W firing pin. I think it was supposed to be reduced mass for better energy transfer of the hammer to the primer. I have not been able to determine how much difference it makes. S&W likely has a much better test lab than I do.
