Hi,
I have been noticing how few model 610's seem to be out there, and how much of a premium they tend to bring, and I was wondering:
If it were possible to get ahold of a 610 barrel & cylinder, would it be possible to swap out the appropriate parts on any N-frame smith, such as a model 28? It would be a bit ***** on a blued 'host' gun, but would it work?
I have done searches and seen that a pinned-barrel frame might have to have a notch machined out of the replacement non-pinned-barrel.
A pistolsmith I called up said that the only issue might be different thread pitches on the breech end of the barrel. Does anyone know if the screw threads are the same on the 610, as the older Smiths? Thank you!
