Local store (they are a bit high on new stuff, but used is pretty reasonable) has a 617-1 in the case for $420 (however, they have a special until the end of the week with 20% off used handguns).

So, about $350 with PICS and Tax.

Nice shape, has box. Not very much visible wear (4" bbl, 6 shot).

I don't know pricing on these...are they worth it?

What era is the dash-1 model?

What is the current model?

Pics of both the 617 and 17 added today (if I got it right)...

You probably don't have to worry about it,because it is probably gone by now at that price. That would be a good deal. The dash one was made '94-95. Good luck, they are excellent shooters.

My wallet would have set new speed record for getting out of my pocket right then and there.

SWSC lists the following....

ANIB $510 *Not Fired
Exc $425
VG $350
Good $200

Stainless finish is usually VG-Exc, however, you need to check it mechanically.

Head Shake
Lock up
Bore
Action
Has it been dropped

Then make an offer if you like what you see. The worst that can be said is no.

Good hunting....

Go back and get it NOW! That is a steal for a 4" 617 no dash or 617-1. Most I have seen in the last couple of months have gone in the $600+ range, especially with box and papers. Did it happen to have combat grips? If so, the combats alone are worth $150+. Did I mention to go back and get it right now?

If you go get it now, I know how you can turn a profit. You can sell it to me. Or better still, tell me where the 617 is located and I will contact the LGS.

Uhhhh, you probably don't have to be told again but.......if you[re still reading this and not at the counter counting out cash.........well.........'nough said.

+1. RUN back and steal it at that price!

Ok, sounds like it's a good deal...

I thought so too....I went in to see if they still had a Remington 700 in .243 (gone), and was wandering when I saw the 617.

So (being that I had just picked up a rifle from them and have a pistol already on lay-a-way there), I was going to give them a deposit on it. I did, then the guy said "you know we have 20% off on the used guns now until the end of the week...so if you pick it up by then, you get the $$ off". So, I went home, posted the above, and took my Daughter to soccer practice...then headed back and bought it.

I'd say Excellent Condition. Hogue grips.

It will work well...I have a 17 (at work, so can't recall the dash on it)..Pinned and Recessed 6" bbl with the combat (thin wood, right?) grips, and now the 617 with the 4" bbl. My daughter likes shooting it (one of them...the other hasn't had a chance to shoot it)...they call it "the old fashioned gun" since they also shoot "their" Mosquito and 10/22.

Thanks again for the info...it wasn't something I was looking for, just thought it might be a good deal (especially with the extra 20% off), so figured I'd better snag it.
