I picked up a 625-3 at a really good price and I noticed a stacking of of the trigger pull at the very end of travel. I thought at first the hand was causing this as with the cylinder open and holding back the latch it disappeared. I just took it apart and noticed the wonky floating hand and a search turned up a thread here from 2010 that stated this was the cause of the stacking. I’ve worked on quite a few of my older S&Ws but this is the first time I’ve seen this. I did get the pin out of the trigger and a K frame hand I had fits in the trigger hole so that is the same. I just need to get a N frame hand and fit it. I have a 629-4 mountain gun and it has a hand just like the old revolvers. Appears they did this for a short period of time? Any input would be appreciated.
