I tried a search for this topic, but no results, so if it has been addressed before, I apologize.

I have a new unfired 637 that worked fine on arrival a week ago. Now the single action trigger doesn't hold. Probably sticky inside, it is cold here in Colorado, but my basement is only in the 50's. Should I send it in for repair or open it up to clean and lube, or what do you suggest?

Thanks,
Larry

Sounds like typical "push-off" where the sear/trigger engagement is not correct and will allow the hammer to fall unintentionally. DEFINITELY send it back to the Factory since there is a lifetime Warranty on this. More than likely the factory will replace the Hammer, Trigger or both if needed. I am guessing this is a NEW gun since you said it just arrived - which even for the current S&W production is a bit strange to have this condition out of the box.

Sucks that you need to send a new gun back, but Push-Off is a dangerous condition.
