64 picture thread

Shorty 45 MK2: ^^^^
Can you tell us about the front sight? Something you did?

Yes, it was me...:o

I was having a hard time picking up the front sight when shooting "fast" even with different colors of paint. So I was looking at getting it milled and a gold bead or tritium front sight installed but then I saw someone online had cut the ramp out and said it helped with picking it up. Sounded like it might work and most newer gun have front sights with a flat face so I gave it a try. Figured if it didn't help I could still send it off.

I used a hack saw and files finished with finer and finer grit sand paper. Worked slowly and took my time. I like it and it does help on picking up the front sight.

I don't plan on selling the gun as for me K snubs carry and shoot so well and it's a -6 with MIM parts so it ain't a collectors piece. I didn't have a problem with my model 10 snub so I think it's the stainless on stainless that makes the difference.

Tom, you need to take a new pic with the expanded family. :D

Coming soon!! :)

I will probably do a new thread when I take the pictures.

I might break it down to groups, 64's, 60's, and others...

I will need a larger back round now...

Here is my 64-5. It is a great comfortable revolver to shoot.

Might as well add mine since this has resurfaced.

Normally I'm not a real fan of stainless guns. I had to make an exception for this one.

It's a -3. I don't think it had ever been fired when I got it. I couldn't find a bit of powder burn anywhere on it.

But that didn't matter really, I think it was the grips that swung it.

My 64-2 with Hogue bantam grips. Best trigger on this gun of any of my Smiths
