You didn't say if it was an older model but I'm guessing it's like mine, a .38 Special, and I paid $300 for mine more than 15 years ago.

Worse yet, it's a .357........... I'm just looking for an excuse, can't afford it, but have the money......

Haven't seen one in .357 for less than $500 in awhile. In nice condition I'd have to grab it for $375. Good luck.

PS: I purchased my Model 649-0 from a fellow Forum member a year or so ago. It was in excellent condition with box, documents, and tools as well as the original grips, and an extra set of gris (Uncle MIke's rubber grips) all for $350.00.

Buy it. 649-3s are hard to find anyway. I saw one sell for $800+ awhile back, and it wasn't NIB.

OK, Thanks guys. I'll go make the deal. I think he will let me do a layaway, it will be easier to sneak it into the growing pile. When my wife asks/finds out, I'll tell her you guys said it was OK.

Done deal. I put it on layaway for $375 OTD. Comes with the original box, all the paper work and it has one of those "hip grips" besides the rubber grips that are on it. I don't know which are original.
Thanks all for the push. Now if you would divide $375 times how many of you helped push me over the edge and send the check to...........(you can deduct my portion from the total)!

Did J-frames ever come from the factory with Barami hip-grips before the current production "Model 637 Wyatt Deep Cover" ?
I'm guessing the new 649s in .357 Magnum always came with those rubber "banana" grips. ICBW......
