Saw 66-1 4" stainless at a local pawn shop today. Beautiful shape, pinned barrel, nice original grips, definitely been fired, locks tight.
He is asking $500 for the gun and I did not try to negotiate since I didn't have that much cash with me at the time. Will go back tomorrow. From looking at the guns sites the $500 seems reasonable.

That sounds like it would be about $50-$100 more in my area.

Others may say that's a few bucks more than they would have to pay.

If you like it, get it; it surely won't decrease in value unless abused.

Hope it's still there tomorrow. I have two P&R 66s and $500 wouldn't get either one of them. Pawn shops around here almost expect you to haggle a little. You can offer $450 and I doubt the pawn shop owner will ask you to leave.

I would love to find one for that price around here. Still - since it's a pawn shop, it wouldn't hurt to haggle.

I think that if it is in 95% condition I would jump on it. I have the 2 2/3" 66 and love the way it feels. A 4" sure would look good sitting next to it.

This is a -1, P&R! I already have a -1 and a no dash, but I would have snatched that one up in a heartbeat at that price. In my part of the country it wouldn't last a day on display. If it is still there tomorrow, you are a lucky man.

If it is in good condition then $500 is a good deal, so don't feel like you got a bad deal if you can't get them to move on the price.

66's are great guns. Don't lose a pinned and recessed one over $50.00.

Finding another locally for $500 may not happen.

Paid $570 for my p&r 4 inch last year. Shot but taken care of. At $500 it may not be there long.

M66-1 F/S for $500, Oh Ya

Not many gun or pawnshops in my small town for me to haunt so I am almost strictly a online buyer mostly GB. Based on what I encounter I would be all over that deal as the M66 is one of my favorites. Here is what I thought was a great deal that I found on GB this last winter. I know on a regional level it may be considered an average deal, but you have to go with what is available and for the numbers available and ease of searching I willingly cough up the associated shipping and FFL cost of GB. I would also not hesitate to bid that $500 up to perhaps $550-575 as I don't own a nice 66-1. This is a M66 N/D a police officer traded in. There was a lot of flat spots from being holstered but no major scratches, I payed $470 and added the Ahrends.
Be thankful your seller didn't opt to place your deal online

You guys are killing me! I've been searching for a good 4" 66-1 in that price range for a long time. Buy it, sell it to me for a quick $50-$75 profit :D.

Hope you get it and look forward to the photos.

GB has P&R 66's that sell for around $600+. I would gladly pay $500 for a decent condition 66.

I traded a Ruger Blackhawk .45 and $75 boot for a 4 inch 66-1. Of coarse that was in 1983. I never missed the ruger and I still have the 66. I'll be keeping it a while longer.

66-1

I went back last Wednesday to get the 66-1 but they were closed for the fourth. Will reopen Monday the sixth and I will go back tomorrow
I remember the barrel is pinned toward the muzzle end instead of at the cylinder. Is this correct or did I just imagine it?

Not Good News on 66-1

Went back today and the 66-1? was still there. Took some photos and when I can figure out how to load them I will put them up.
It is not a 66-1 but a 66-3. Price is $500 firm plus 9% tax.
A good looking gun but worth $545??

A 66-3 will have a pinned barrel. (The pin will be in the barrel and frame right at the front of the frame) $500 would still be a good buy around here and it would not last long.
