66 stocks

Nice 66 no-dash you have there. The proper original grips for it would be Target style with the 'football' (oval) cutout for speed loader use. However, any K/L sized grip for a square butt will fit the gun. Original Targets in good shape are getting expensive, so you may want to try a variety of styles. The smaller service style 'magna' grips fit my hand better on K and N frames.

Yes looking to make it more original. Hopefully add some value as well.

It is a nice shooter, my 13yr old daughter likes to shoot it with 38 special in it. Not quite ready for the .357 yet.

As others have stated the proper stocks for a 66 (no dash) would be football relieved Goncalo Alves checkered targets as pictured below on the Model 66 (top).

Magnas shown on the Model 67 (bottom) will fit but are not the proper OEM style.

Ahrends Moradillo Stocks

Ahrends sold by gripseller on ebay is good source for these Retro Finger groove stocks in moradillo hardwood on my M66 n/d. The seller photographs each pair so you know precisely what you will be receiving.

Also look for Kuracs (Culina grips). They're a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. There are a couple of threads on this forum devoted to photos of them, so if you search one you can browse. John is a member of this forum under the name Kurac.

Here is my 66 with a pair of Kurac grips:

Ok,took a chance on ebay and found what was listed as original s&w grips that are period correct for my 66. (hope they are original even though they did not come on my revolver)Thanks to all you guys chiming in with ideas and pictures, the 66 looks even more beautiful with these "new" grips!

Even feels better in the hand, guess I will have to find out how it shoots!
