Found a 6906 at gun show a few weeks ago with the box and paper work. It was very clean and the owner said it had never been fired outside of the factory test. It was clean but I really don't buy those gun show 'stories'...as many other members have warned me about...lol. Asking $650 and would take $625. I seriously thought about it since my 6904 magazines would work in this one too...but I passed on it. I might see it again at an upcoming show if it hasn't sold.

It seems a bit high, but a lot of factors would enter into the discussion - $625 out the door is probably high, but $625 plus tax and FFL fee and maybe shipping would be way high in my mind.
Consider a GB purchase of $500 would add roughly $100 -125 shipping plus taxes and fees and I would pay my FFL $25 fee so a $500 GB item would be closer to $625-650 to me. And a near new 6906 with original box and 2 factory 12 rd mags would probably bring $500+ on GB.
But on the other side of the equation, a GB seller would only net $500 less GB fees.
Split the difference and offer $550 out the door.

Some of this depends on where you are. In a state with magazine capacity limits or "rosters" it would likely be worth more.
In a normal states, it would likely be less as there is no added value because of the magazine capacity.
Also, there is a difference if the intent is to keep as pristine as possible as a "collectible" or if it's going to see significant range or carry use.
Since you're familiar with 3rd Gens you know that it's a dependable and accurate firearm if carry is your goal.
Based on all of that, I'd say that I'd say it's worth $500.00 give or take. I don't know that I'd pay $625.00 for one unless I really wanted it.

No 6900 Smiths , but I have 2 469' and 2 669's . For their size , I think they are more accurate than some 5in Smiths I own . I have 2 factory 20rd mags I load up when I take them to the range . With 40rds waiting , it makes for some fun at the range .

I got two mags from them and both are top quality. 12 rnds.

Where on the waist is this meant to be carried; side, appendix? It seems to have a forward cant. Is that an accurate view?
Great guns...... only thing better are the Performance Center Shorty-9s.
Race car version of the 6906.
Bought it "used" from a friend .... never thought about them being "collectable" so I've carried mine off and on for over 25 years when I want more capacity than a 3913. Extra mag is always a 15rd 5906 mag with the +2 adopter .... giving me 28 or 43 rounds.
Another cool variation is the FrankenSmith "6915" where you mate a 915 barrel and slide to a 6906 frame!

Yeah, it's just a right hand holster with a forward cant. For me, anywhere from 3:00 back.

I just bought three magazines for my 6909 off Gunsamerica from Robertson Trading Post.
They look identical to my original S&W magazines but the writing on the package is Chinese? or something oriental.
Look to be high quality and if the rain will quit, I will go to the range tomorrow.

Robertson Trading Post seems to be making some 3rd Gen parts. I think they offer both 6906 and 3913 OEM style grips. They look like the OEM ones, but don't have the S&W logo.

I went to the range today and had a ball.
I belong to a big outdoor range where you passcard in and then take any empty pistol bay for your own. It allows a lot of freedom.
The magazines performed perfectly. I shot all reloads but full power JHP's, FMJ, Flat Nose and some Coated RNFP with zero malfunctions.
I practiced drawing and firing from concealment. What a sweet shooting pistol and the Dawson Fiber Optic front sight was a blessing.
I had cataract surgery a few months ago so the sights are not perfectly clear but I had no problems with head and chest shots out to most practical distances.
I also found some very nice,adjustable magazine pouches on Amazon and used them today at the range and also to carry concealed to and from the range.
They are listed as 2-Pack Universal IWB/OWB Magazine Holster/Mag Carrier for 9mm/.40 Double Stack Magazines.
