Out of those, the Sig. I would take a 1811 first, but not that one.

I'm biased because my first firearms purchase was a Ruger P90. Not the most refined of the bunch but mine has been fantastic and much better accuracy than its price point would suggest.

Don't have one but the KAHR P45 immediately came to mind...

Certainly more compact than those mentioned above.;)

Cheers!

Just reading the title of your post, I had my answer without even seeing the choices. 1911 all the way. I do see you have the 1991 as the choice. I know some (for unknown reasons) don’t like them. I have one and as for function I see no difference between them and any of my 1911 pistols.

Dan

Most likely I would add the Sig 220 to my three I already have. I have 7 1911's. The Sig's are basically more accurate and definitely more forgiving on bullet weight and shape changes.

Of course, Cost and Condition are a factor. The Rugars never shot as well, and sometimes were just terrible!

Comes down to whether you want single-action...DA/SA with decocker or a slide mounted hammer drop safety.

I'm a single-action guy and do not like slide-mounted safeties. So my choice by ranking is:

1) Colt 1991A1
2) Sig P220
3) S&W
4) Ruger

1911's of course! Also fond of my Ruger P90. They are built like a tank. Bob

I’ll go with the one I did pick in 1995, the Colt M1991A-1. It was my first semi-auto pistol, a 21st birthday gift from my parents. Back in 1995 it cost $425, which was a lot of money to us then. The Norinco was cheaper, but if I was getting a .45 I wanted a Colt. I qualified with it and carried it at work in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I’ve got lot’s of Colts now, but it’s the one I will absolutely never sell.

My runner up for a .45 back then would’ve been the Firestar. It was a nice compact pistol for the time.

First would be a 1911, but not without the beavertail safety. (I never touched a 1911 for over thirty years after leaving the Army, until I handled a fellow Officer’s 1911 with the beavertail safety, now I have at least a dozen of them, mostly Colt’s). Of those in the pic, the S&W.

I'm a 1911 guy from way back. My obvious choice. :D
I own a Sig P220. That's my choice in the SA/DA catagory.
I'll give S&W 3rd place.
While Ruger does build good guns. To me the old P series always felt like I was trying to shoot a brick.
