In air force aircraft forms is a page or block of lines titled EXCEPTIONAL RELEASE. The pilot signs the next line indicating that he will fly an aircraft with minor problems that do not affect safety of flight or aircrew safety.

The new guy was sent to the Tool Crib from the flight line (3/4 mile walk) to get the Spring Tester for the Exceptional Release.

At Scout camp we would send rookies to other campsites for left handed smoke shifters. They'd get bounced from fire to fire looking..

SNIPE HUNT

Long ago I was camping at a state park.
Boy Scout group was camping nearby.
Not wanting to give anything away I asked the seemingly Senior Scout
" How did you do on your last Snipe Hunt?"
He did not know about hunting Snipes.

Adult leader quicly explained about hunting Snipes
and arranged for the troop to go on a Snipe Hunt.
