still searching for that 3" pre-lock. Might as well keep looking for some blued variants too.

Saw a complete boxed 296 yesterday at Cabela's but they were still a little toooo proud of it $$$$$

Ahh...So many beauties posted. I'm really enjoying this thread.
Full underlug L frame S&W's is what started my addiction to accumulating revolvers. Pictured is my 586-4 Snubbie along with a portion of Roy Jinks letter that gives some background information about L frames.

1911-10MM: that is an interesting front sight on the middle revolver, factory??

shrade, I might be able to answer your question. I believe it to be a Metpro night sight. It looks like the one that was installed on my SSR buy my gunsmith. We will see if I'm right. LOL

1982 586 Nickle with HOGUE rubber stocks

Here's the one that I bought new for $171.06. A 1982 586 no dash Nickle with added HOGUE rubber stocks.

Oh the shell, it's been out of the water since 1953.

My very first S&W is this 686-6+. It was advertised as a TALO, by Bud's, at the time. I've since seen it listed as a "Deluxe". Not sure what makes it special, other than the computer-carved Altamonts.
It's a fine shooter, but fits my hand better with older K frame Target grips.

586-4. My favorite competition shooter (I need to practice more...) and to me the best version of the L-frame. That smooth rolling DA pull is sweet. The S&W L-frame is my favorite gun and I just realized I have only 1....
