fractured or broken hips are a bad deal for old folks. Hope she pulls through. My MIL is 94, and very active; my wife constantly worries about a fall and broken hip.
Kevin's (wood714) mom is 85 and fell last night and fractured her hip for the fourth time. She laid all night not being able to get to a phone. The next morning someone heard her yelling for help and they had to use a pry bar to gain entry. They just transferred her from a local hospital to a trauma hospital in Orlando which is 100 miles from Kevin.
He will find out more tomorrow about what they are going to do.
A prayer or kind word would go far as she is in pain and Kev has a lot on his heart and mind right now.
Thanks.
...Seems the prayers have worked. Just talked to her nurse, and *IF* she does what they say, she will be back to 100% without surgery...
She's a tough lady, and won't listen to anyone....or the record I got her a Medical Guardian watch when I was in Ohio right after my dad died in August, but she never wears it. Maybe now she will....
Tough and stubborn can be useful qualities, but (note to self...) perhaps not always in advanced ageGood luck with all the bureaucratic claptrap involved in the move. It'll certainly be easier on both of you when you are closer
