See my OP - I got the letter, for Kit gun 562486, while mine is 562635 - not sure what happened ???

Were you ever able to resolve the different serial # in the letter mystery?

By the way, the original serial #matching box to your gun just sold at auction 6/21/20 with a non-matching gun:

Just adding the details and a few more pics of SN 534617 (photo in post 12 above) to this thread. It shipped on 12/13/1951, has the rebated back strap, and is one of very few that had the "2-screw" rear sight.
