Get a kindle fire or ipad or somesuch and noise cancelling headphones. Not much else you can do really short of going the route of broken glass in hamburger or antifreeze. Get caught at that and you will do time. There are dog lovers in prison too so will not be pleasant time either. Simple cost benefit equation.

Call the local police dept.. They will respond to "barking dog" calls. Most communities have "leash laws" also. My PD issues warnings then tickets for infractions. My next door neighbors have a min poodle, and I have two part Chihuahuas. We have a "mutual barking agreement". We have a jerk that lives 2 houses down that has his times 2 jerk son living with him. They adopted a really nice little black lab female a couple years ago. She is out in the fenced yard most of the time. The only time she barks is when she wants back in the house. They left her out on the coldest night of the year last winter. She barked, they didn't let her in, I called the PD at midnight, they got a ticket, and let dog in the house.

My trailer trash neighbors let the dogs bark all night. Been having trouble getting sleep anyway. when I hear the I set the truck alarm off. Truck faces the garage door under the carport and about 12 ft from their bedroom . Set off alarm let it run for 5 minutes then rest. Wait 5 mins and set off again. get in the middle of the night and all is quite. Set off the alarm of sure.

Hurting or killing small domestic animals ain't what I'd call manly. SO...You eliminate current dog, and they get a replacement, as such people often do. What then?

Wasp and hornet spray every time the dog gets on your property...won't take long...and the dog will avoid you like the plague.
Will it harm the dog?....don't know.
Does it work...from experience, yes and the dog lived...didn't have to kill him.

Spraying the dog with a waterhose when it barks can work too.
Before I moved out into the country I had a neighbor with a barking dog. I put one of those narrow spraying hose nozzles on my garden hose. It took me about a week but whenever it woke me up barking I went out and sprayed the dog. Yeah, sometimes it was two or three times a night but it did finally get the hint. After I got it "trained" I could just walk out and pick up the hose and that dog would run off.
Of course, now I live out in the country and we have a more permanant way of dealing with problem dogs.

Allright guys I posted here last night and said things were getting interesting. After your guys advice I tried the bologna and treats ect..... Didn't work! I tried to talk to the neibors again but that failed yet again. Sooooo I sprayed the pita with the hose, didn't work!
So last night I'm sitting outside with some friends minding our own business. Little yip yip comes charging me because it's apparent his owners don't give a hoot about him.
Well I beamed him with a beer can and he went of running. The neibor came out irate and said did you just hit my dog with a beer can? I said I did, I've tried to be nice and offer advice to you guys regarding your dog but he continues to be a pest to the neiborhood.
He tried to square up and threaten me and I told him to bring it but he bailed. Not the best choice but wanna know the best part? It's been nothing but peice and silence since then!
Havnt seen the neibors or heard from the dog since! I guess they got the message.

Glad to hear that you have a resolution. I hope that it lasts, and you didn't make an enemy of your neighbor.

Well there ya go. The dog obviously knows that proper handguns are made of metal & have a hammer. He just doesn't like glock fanbois!
Some dogs are just smart that way....

All seems well after the incident. It wasn't what I wanted it to come to but I had it and had to do something. The neibors have been keeping to themselves and the dog hasn't ran rapid in the block tormenting me or others in the block since.
Needless to say I guess there keeping a close eye on the dog since what I did to him.
Been pretty peaceful around here thankfully!

Give him a shot of pepper/bear spray, once he is on YOUR PROPERTY. This will solve the problem. Shooting the dog with a gun should be the last resort.

Pretty typical response for a bully - I of course refer to the neighbor with the dog.
You did nothing to foment the situation, you did everything in your power to bring it to a successful and peaceful conclusion, but the bully in typical fashion brought it right to the edge.
It can go one of two ways from here...
1.) All can rest and nothing further will develop, at least nothing with the dog.
2.) Passive/aggressive BS whereby they taunt you for perceived slights.
In my case the offending neighbor moved shortly after shunning by the entire neighborhood. They didn't have a friend here and no one would talk to them or give them a cup of warm spit.
The second nuisance neighbor dog owner (there were two simultaneously) attacked one of our neighbors when he politely asked her to silence the dog so he could study. He was a mid 50's pastor studying for his divinity degree and she slapped him for daring to knock on her door. No forewarning, just slapped him, then called the police and told them he hit her. Police assessed the situation and came to the conclusion she was lying AND had a screw loose.
Then her dog bit the mailman, so it was destroyed. I guess it takes the .gov to be the aggrieved, not the citizen, but whatever, the dog is gone now. She had it penned in a cage outside in front of the house and I don't blame the dog for being lonely and tortured like that. No interaction, just caged like a criminal. People like her should NEVER own an animal.
We have one yap yap dog going off now two doors up, but it's not so bad volume wise. Just the same, the neighbors know how to deal with it and on their own have initiated steps. The dog has been quieted somewhat.

If the need arises again, toss fido a hunk of hamburger. Just make sure that it's wrapped around the contents of a pack of Ex-lax. Once back inside the neighbor's house, fido will take care of business.

Hope it works out and the neighbors are keeping better track of little Phydeaux.
Don't give up on the treat idea. You might have to throw it to the little bastitch for awhile but always the chance he might decide to see if there's more and decide to be friends.
...course... it might also teach him that annoying you means treats...

Sadly, my oldest brother, after trying everything else, did that very thing. I don't advocate it either, but I can understand it. He was working at night and going to school in the day. No way to afford moving, and it was seriously affecting his life and future.
My next door neighbor has four little yap-yap dogs. He keeps them in the back yard, so they're not loose. As far as I'm concerned, they function as a valuable burglar alarm for several houses around them.
