I'm not sure how accessible ammo is to people outside of New Jersey, but for us here, we're pretty limited to where we can buy locally.

We dont have Wally World's.. Walmarts don't stock ammo. I believe Dick's is the only chain that stocks in my area, but their selection is severely limited, as are the local shops.

That being said, its close to impossible finding CCI Mini-mags and the Federal value packs are also very scarce (read: I've never seen them anywhere!)

That being said, one of my local places does stock CCI blazers. It's about $28 for a box of 500 (kinda $, but what are ya gonna do!) and I was planning on running the Blazers exclusively in my 15-22 since they're more readily available.

My question is, has everyone generally had pretty good experiences w/ the Blazers? I've only run mini-mags thru mine so far with not a single issue. I don't mind paying a little more for flawless performance. =)

If the Blazers yield the same results, I can be a happy camper...

And of course, the Remington Thunderbolts and stuff are everywhere! Maybe I should try a box of those..... ;)

I met a guy at the range using Blazer in his new 15-22. Rifle cycled well. Accuracy seemed about on par with Fed Val Pack.

You can buy ammo on line from the advertiser here. It's a few more bucks for shipping but they got it.

Remington has earned a less than great reputation with the 15-22. I won't use it with the 15-22.

I bought a case of 10 boxes of Winchester "333" for just over $100 delivered. Been thru at least 1000 rounds of it without issues.

.22LR ammo at the local stores is usually quite limited here in Ohio as well, but not because of any state restrictions. Won't the internet ammo sources ship to NJ?

Yup, buying online is definitely an option, but shipping fees usually jack prices up tremendously. Case in point, there's an advertiser for this site which stocked the Federal bulk. I think the price was $22-23? Put 1 box in the cart and shipping was estimated at $18! =(

$28 for a box of 500 CCI's isn't all that bad is it? I pay about 8 dollars a box per 100 at wal mart.

Buying even a box of 333 or 500 has no economy. Buy ammo by the case. 1000 for 5.56mm; 3330 to 5000 rounds at a time for .22LR. Be sure your rifle "likes" this ammo first, though. I checked last night and the source I used in early January is sold out of all bulk .22LR. That's another reason to buy it by the case when you can.

Ordering more helps lower the shipping rate/box . Ordering 10 boxes showed to be about $3.50/ea. That makes it around $25.50 per delivered box. If I have to pay the new price of $18.95 at WallyWorld + Tenn tax it would be $21. If I have to drive my 15mpg 4x4 truck across town to find it... who said shooting .22s was cheap?

The ammo shortage is still on in most places and hasn't got any better for a long while. The last gun show I was at 3 weeks ago there was one ammo dealer there and his prices were sky high. He wanded $10 a 100 for standard velocity CCI 22 LR that I like to shoot in my S&W Model 41. I bought some at the same show a years ago for $6.25 a 100.

Our Walmart still gets in Federal 22LR bulk packs but usually only has a few while they have a huge stack of the Remington bulk packs.

I am willing to pay a little for convenience.

I bought 2000 rds Federal 40GN RN Gameshok from AMMOMAN.COM d/b/a Discount Distributors for $0.08/ea. Yeah, that's more than the $0.03/ea I paid for Win 333 at Walmart, but factor in all the time calling and driving and you start to eat up the difference pretty quick.

I had great service through ammoman, all their prices include shipping so there's no surprises.

other than my local walmart's, i get ammo online from a few different place's. first i figure out the price per rd(including shipping, tax, and any other $ added to the price). i find sportsmans guide to be in the ball park most of the time along with midwayusa.com. i live in missouri so i have to pay tax at midway, but i still purchase a lot of product's from there. both company's have great service and stand behind the product's they sell, and both are a little higher than walmart. the price of ammo has gone through the roof the past few year's because there is a high demand for it, and the retailer's know it, so up goes the price like everything else. this is a good web site to visit to get comparison price's on any cal. of ammo. i don't know about all the company's listed so i generally stay with the one's i have used before, even if it's a couple $$$$ more.gun-deals.com - User-Submitted Gun & Ammunition Deals i don't have a M&P 15-22 yet because of the problem's i see everyone is having with them, but as soon as the bug's are worked out i wouldn't mind getting one. i own an assortment of handguns and a r's, along with a couple of ruger mk111's i use for the summer. my ruger's will eat about anything, but the best i found is the fed. bulk 550, cci mini-mag's, and fed. american eagle ae22. all are clean and have very little problem's with them. i have a bunch of win. 333 and champion, but only use those when i let friend's shoot the ruger's. some crappy ammo, and i have been using it for year's in all different cal. because it was so cheap at walmart's. i should be finishing it up later this year and don't plan on returning to winn. ammo. to much good ammo out there now.

i got 2100 rnds of federal bulk in a nice dry box from cabella's for 85 bux.. so far i have put about 500 throught the gun with no issues

I stopped in the local Scheels sporting goods this pm. A 500 pack of Federal Champions.... $34.99....on sale for $29.99. That is worse than highway robbery.

LEX: Ammo can not be shipped to NJ to a private individual, it could be shipped to a dealer, does not matter if you buy it over internet/mail. If you look at NJ criminal code; ammunition sales you will find the information. I do not know how close you are to Pa, but it is not illegal for you to buy ammo in Pa and return to Jersey, but unfortunately due to state law it can not be sent. Do not want you to get into trouble!! Be Safe.
