Has anyone but me noticed that ammunition ( except fo bird shot shotgun shells ) is now worth about the same price per ounce as pure silver?

Think about the implications of that.
Am I wrong?

I tried a .22

it's .116 of an ounce
So .116 X $26/oz approx $3 each if silver

ammoseek cost for .22 is $.17 each

All those numbers are estimates of course.

On a price per gallon measure, if you buy those single serving bottles of water (especially if out of a vending machine) it is cheaper to drink gasoline! Small bottles of water are one of those situations where the price is in the distribution, not the product or even the packaging.

With premium a Silver Eagle is around $40.00.

a box of 115gr 9mm fmj locally between $29.00 -$35.00

For me the Eagle will always last longer than the ammo.

I shoot enough to keep trigger skills fresh and stockpile Eagles.
