Here in Iowa we have multiflora rose in pastures up and down the Cedar River Valley. Nothing seems to kill it, and it does function as a fence, terrible to try to get through!
Now the road ditches and some pastures still have hemp plants growing in them, from another of the government's great ideas and plans!
Useless for anything except getting some kids excited when they are 12y.o. County sends out notices to farmers to remove it, but that typically means running a cycle bar mower or a brush hog over it once a year.

At my childhood home, the house next door had a massive horse chestnut tree. Stunk like crabmeat when it bloomed.
And yes, those spikes hurt when they made contact.
We used to take the chestnuts and line them up in the road so the cars tires would run them over one after another.
Some drivers actually got what we were trying to do and would follow the line, squishing the nuts.
We'd stand on the side walk, jumping up and down and cheering.
It was cool.
But kinda dumb. Never crossed our little minds that we coulda got run over.

Black walnuts and hickory nuts will raise a knot on your head like a rock got you! The walnuts would also stain you,old school paint ball that didn't come off forever. Made our spears from milkweed plants,short range but large caliber hurt. Drift on!

My story is my wife and my adult kids took a pub tour with friends to Ireland. One kid not mine was already drinking while waiting for the bus to go to the airport. At one pub the bartender told my son somethings wrong with that kid. The yank out drinks everyone in the pub. My son said the kid out drank everyone in every pub. Lol the yank made us proud. Lmao

Amazing the differences in culture! Was watching the news preview tonight about an entire city in the U.S.going bankrupt! School system can't pay teachers, shutting off water to residents, etc. Some places mine for their citizens

As a follow up to my previous post, I should point out that my wishlist has plenty of Smith & Wessons on it. I'd estimate at least a couple dozen total. They just didn't make the top 20. I blame all those threads asking to pick just X amount of firearms.

I'm finally back home from jury service. It was a long and event filled day. I was released from voir dire shortly after 5:00 PM without being selected for the case. The bus I got on for the ride home was in a minor accident. My lunch was a small bag of Cheetos, so beer and food were immediately needed. While I process a second beer, here's what happened in Okinawa on this day in 1945.
May 2, 1945
Around 0551 some 25 LSTs from Leyte anchored. They carried vehicles, cargo and equipment for the 7th Division. Meanwhile, the weather is foul. Even so, all types of smaller vessels come alongside for supplies. Four sacks of mail arrived but the boxes of food and packages were torn and smashed. Cookies were crumbs. Those at home would do well to save their sugar and butter stamps. Packages come by ship; mail by plane. When the weather is bad, only essential flights land at Yontan. When anything is shipped by plane the aircraft carries fuel for the round trip. Fuel and ammunition are in short supply.
