I told everybody about me completely trashing my 12
year old Audi A4 yesterday.

Here's its replacement.
2010 Crown Vic. formerly with airport security in Florence KY.
4.6 liter Police Interceptor. 100,800 miles. Just broke in good.
Got it for a good price. Under 5K
It'll get 21 MPH on a good day but i'm retired now and no longer
have to drive 35 miles each way to work.

I wonder why cars coming from the opposite direction keep
slowing down and they always make complete stops?? haha
I could have some fun with this car.........haha
There's a New Sheriff in town !!!

Maybe i'll cut a hole in the roof for a turret, mount a twin .50
and head down to help the folks in Texas with the Emu hoardes.

I want to post more about seeing a Bald Eagle this morning and my new smartphone... but back in 1945 Homer declared Beer Time! They deserved it!!!

June 9, 1945

What a hectic night! Beginning at 0026 and lasting until 0528 the Hagushi ships remained at flash red. Bolder than usual, the enemy flew over the anchorage and the island dropping bombs on the latter. Operating continuously, the fog generator used 1000 gallons. Although no attack, this was one of our busiest evenings. This is another beautiful day with high and steady winds. Loading proceeded at a rapid pace. All turned to with a will that surprised me. Maybe they think this will be the last time. Really our period of usefulness here is about over. Many of the smaller vessels have been withdrawn and larger ships will take our place. This morning enemy fighters flew low over the anchorage and the island and dropped their bombs. From 1935 to midnight 10 raids from the north were over the area.

After dinner two cans of beer were distributed to each man. This is all the beer we have! The going price to those who did not drink was $5.00 a can. Even with the additional fresh foods we are running low. Dry provisions are always available but the reefers do not serve us regularly. By the way, TF 38 shelled Okino Daito and Minami Daito and then withdrew to Leyte for replenishment and repair. When ready, the TF will hit Kyushu.

Cheers!

Yo Chuck, doncha know you gots to gun the Audi and fly over the holes? Helluva way to swap rides. You have the deep window tint and the spotlight?
.

I hear ya' friend. I didn't see it in time to do the
Dukes of Hazzard ramp jump.:D:D

Yep.
I posted some pix of the Crown Vic.
Getting some funny stares as i sit at stop lights.
I need to get me one of those "wear on the head" lamps that
has a red lens. Might be fun at night time.:):)

Good evening drift! Was reading the posts to pawngal on using whiskey as a cold remedy and it made me think of my Grandmother who was a God fearing church lady from the old school who would never drink but had her cough syrup/cold medicine that had honey, lemon, and other ingredients unknown to me and was at least 100 proof or better! Rub you down with Vicks and a couple of large tablespoons of elixir and you were ready to go! She had a lot of home remedies, she also liked to worm us regularly just like the rest of the critters. Sassafras tea was something she used that I liked. She lived to 96 and was still sharp and active when she died so the remedies must not have done any harm. Drift on.

Vonn, That's one heckuva' Buck !!!

Hope you're feeling better Pawngal.

Nice picture of the Eagle. I woulda' guessed an immature
Golden Eagle but i'm not an Ornithologist.
But i did stay at a Holiday Inn a couple years ago...

Sounds like you got the tire shop on speed dial
there Paul. Get ya' some of these...

Good Evening:

I hope everyone is well and especially hope Pawngal gets better. Colds suck!

I went and got fried chicken breasts from Publix and they're tater wedges. Grandson and wifey loves their chicken breasts. I haven't eaten yet. I got too hot earlier and need to cool off.

So everyone have A GREAT Evening. Stay safe and enjoy some time with your family. Life is short, Way Too short. And when it boils down to it, family is all we really have!

Momma always said, she NEVER saw a Hearse pulling a U-Haul! Translation, material things don't matter! Because you can't take em with you! Your kids and grandkids are your only legacy!

Enough of the Dribble Drabble, on with the Drift!

Fried chicken it is!

Is smoked brisket anything like fried chicken? The reason I ask is because they have a sale on fried chicken tomorrow and it would be cheaper and easier than smoking a brisket.
Back in the day, I discovered that if you smoked really good brisket, you would get a craving for fried chicken...and french fries...and doritos...and pizza...

Just pretend this is hwitty.

Following the cake tip.

Can a person die from constipation?

I am a little worried with how full of manure some people are ?

And just how did the chicken get fried in the first place? ;)

I'll never die of constipation.
This place is a great release!

Sure looks like they plugged him up realllll good too!

You really pick up some interesting information here! You never know what wisdom might be imparted or when.

Two root canals, a tooth extraction, an implant... no opiates. Prior experiences taught me I'd still hurt but not care and plug me up something fierce. I knew a guy who was proud his uncle did Elvis's autopsy.

We lived in Florida for 12 years and I have to say that Publix has the best customer service of any retail establishment I have ever patronized. If you ask where something is, they drop what they're doing and walk you directly to it. Never have a cross attitude from any Publix employee in 12 years of shopping there.
