I think I'll play the number 1939 tomorrow. For some reason, possibly cosmic, maybe karmic,
it kept popping up in my life today. I just bought a rifle made 1939. The scope on it was made in 1939.
The movie I channel surfed into had a New Year's scene with a big 1939 banner in it. I went looking
for a magazine for this rifle, and found it at Brownells. A fine establishment that has been in business
since 1939. I'm just wondering what it all means, ya know?

Sitting on my front porch in the waning light. Tree frogs getting their groove on. A prop airplane humming by somewhere in the distance. A june bug with the IQ of a....well...a june bug...thumps into the screen door. The neighborhood seems quiet. The house quieter still.

I work long hours sometimes so Candi has been staying with my folks. They are retired, and she doesn't have to spend the day alone. I drive out to see her after work and drive back home so I can sleep in my own bed and try to get some rest before starting the routine over again and again and again. That's the plan. Doesn't work...but that's the plan.

So in the quiet, I think. I think about the "what if's" and the "what could be's." But those really don't amount to much in the grand scheme. We should all really focus less on the "what if" and " what could be" and live the "right now" to the fullest. Love deeply. Laugh freely. Shed a tear unashamedly. Don't waste these right now moments. Because "what if" "what could be" really did steal them away?

It looks like I will bring Candi home Tuesday after her dialysis appointment. We can sit on this old porch together. Man that cricket is loud.

I shot enough to confirm reliability. It will be a carry gun. The previous owner has 1000 rounds through it. For a CZ, it's just getting broke in.

I plan to shoot some more tomorrow. I may post a pic too.
