Had a little snow last night and some freezing rain, was 30 degrees when I got up this morning, that's what happens when you put the scraper away.:)

So where are we? Going to 3,000 posts are we?

I'm going fishing, maybe shooting, maybe both and shoot fish in a barrel.

Went shooting yesterday. Today, need to tie a fly...just like the the one pictured...

I have been over on the Spam drift and now I have to go to see if anything has drifted into my food supply that I just have to eat.

Geddylee, you'd better jump in here if you want to try and save this thing you created.

I hear JimmyJ is doing some tricks on another thread.
Whew, that's 3 in a row. I need a rest.

Why do the "Alphabet song" and "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" follow the same tune?

Why did you just hum them both to make sure?

:D

Just watched Josey Wales send a bunch of bad guys drifting freeing the grandmother and the girl . Sure was fancy revolver action even if it is movie action.

Would that be a March Brown? Lets see the pattern when tied.

I thought they were May Flies. Known as Midges around here. Some call them Sons of Midges. They live one day, reproduce and die. When they hatch don't be anywhere near light and Great Caesar's Ghost don't be on a boat with a light. Touch them and they pretty much liquefy. They are a mess.

Mayflies, yes. Midges, no. Different animals, so to speak.
Here's your midge. Trout love it when they "Drift" in the current.

This is great. Nobody around here knows this. Although there are sure to be non-believers, this year I will now be prepared to awe most of my guests with my knowledge of bugdom during the hatch. Thanks. No, seriously, thanks! ;) :D

I continue to be amazed at the things I learn in thread drift.

Entomologically speaking, I'm not a fan. If it stings, I'm allergic to it. If it walks, crawls, hops, flies, spins, swims...it creeps me out. I keep the swatter & various sprays handy at all times.

I guess it would be safe to say you are bugged by them?

"A thread adrift" like that of a fly fisherman (or woman, sic).
2,184 posts to ...get the drift.. arrive at fly fishing.
It is official, armistice day on a gun forum.
