Annoyed at thread drift

The USS Olympia

Commissioned 1898 Decommissioned 1922
It was Admiral Dewy's flag ship at the Battle of Manila Bay
In 1921 it brought back the remains of The Unknown Soldier from WWI
It remains berthed in Philadelphia awaiting very much needed hull repairs and there were even thoughts of taking this old war veteran out and sinking it for a reef.
This is the last surviving ship of its class

Twilight Zone and Outer Limits were among my favorites and yes, they could scare the willies out of you without resorting to psycho killer blood and gore.


I also always loved Rawhide, Bonanza, Cheyenne, Daniel Boone, Branded, Gunsmoke, Wild Wild West, and Death Valley Days. If I lived out west, I might have become a modern day cowboy.

PS: I forgot Maverick, another great Western.

F TROOP. I loved the episode with Corporal Agarn's cousin from Banff and the way they exaggerated the pronunciation of Banff-f-f-f-f. As a kid, I thought it was no less than hilarious.

You did not miss much,we didn't always have TV when I was a kid and when we did we only got one channel . Most of
my memories are from reruns. Most of us probably watch to much nowadays .

In Englang, in the 50's, the only channel was BBC. It aired for 4 hours a day. The only kids' show was "Bill & Ben the Flower Pot Men."
