Just pretend this is witty.

You fellows are treading on dangerous ground, the ladies in your life will not see the humor! I speak from experience and it wasn't pretty?:D

Good music and a fast drift tonight, update on the flooding here-it has driven the alligators out of the usual spots and the neighbors are not happy! They are finding them in unusual locations and having to capture and move them. Most people here don't realize how many live here and how big some of them are.

Hope you're staying high and dry. And not gator-bit.

I know what you've been reading...:D
Yeah, Class 1 railroads, unless you are shipping full trainloads, you get it when they feel like getting it to you, at the price they decide, like it or lump it. Oh, and they'll be happy to destroy it for you. They move lots of material cost effectively, but customer service isn't their strong suit. The attitude from that poster does not surprise me. I spent some time as a supplier to class 1 rail. Lots of good people, but plenty of not so nice ones too

I have been neglecting the Drift for several days. Lurking but not posting. Mother in law fell and broke her pelvis, shoulder, scapula, and collar bone. All clean breaks, no surgery. Now she's moving in to our gameroom, so we have contractors banging away and we've been a little pre occupied. And the stress level is up, up, up. Now don't misunderstand, my mother in law is a dear sweet lady and she thinks I'm wonderful. Proof that you can fool some of the people, all of the time. In the meantime, our business activity is slow right now but getting ready to explode. I've bought two guns in the last couple months, a 6" model 27, and a 6" K38 to round out my masterpiece set of 6 inchers. I am still walking in a boot after breaking my foot during the drunken wrestling match with my son after his deployment. So one more week in the boot and a week and a half later, me and my Remington 760 leave for safari in South Africa. Yes, a good old pump gun in the land of double rifles. Pictures will certainly follow. Tried to apply for the Global Access program thru US customs and got my conditional approval, but you only have 30 days to get your interview and there are no appointments available in Pittsburgh, ever it seems. So now that I've drifted afar and away, I'll send this along til another day. So drift on my brethren, stay tru to the task, and if someone should notice, I didn't ask.

Never cared to much for the humidity, the heat I could take! But now being one lung short and with one good lung this weather makes it a little hard to breath, so until it breaks I'm just staying indoors with the AC!

Yeah. I suppose gators can make your morning routine a little more complicated. Watch your step. That isn't a new bath mat...And that isn't much of a welcome mat for the front porch either..

What will they think of next? A welcome mat that tastes like chicken! :D

(More like frog legs, I understand.)

You got that right! The humidity is what emphasizes the heat...or the cold. I remember years ago when I was in Billings, Montana for no good reason. It might be twenty five degrees outside, but since it was so dry, you could be comfortable in a light windbreaker, as long as the wind wasn't blowing too hard.
