The finished product! I make a bunch so that I can separate it into small quantities & then freeze it. Works out well. I don't know how legit the recipe is, & I really don't care. All I know is that it blows away any sauce I've had in a restaurant. The house smells good right now...
That's All ??!!! I'm Italian and that would be just one meal in my family with a little left over to put over a nice breakfast Frittata in the morning! :D

Same here. I have all raised beds now. We will be planting all day Saturday and some on Sunday as well.

I just made our first raised bed and got it filled with black dirt. 12'x4'. We have kind of given up on a garden here because the soil is so poor. We buy most of our tomatoes from the Amish as well. We can about 25 qts a year for chili & goulash & stuff.[/QUOTE]

I've found that depending on the nitrogen levels in your soil you should amend it every year. I amend my raised beds every year with compost that I make myself mixed with compost from a recycle ctr. We also use epsom salt. It works! There is a fair amount of info. On the subject on the organic gardening sites. I use no pesticides what so ever for insects. Instead I use a variety of repellent flowers and herbs. Marigolds and rosemary are the main varieties.

Earth worms are another great addition to your raised beds. Their casings add much needed nitrogen to the soil as well.
Save all your used coffee grounds to add to your soil when you amend it and the grounds will attract other worm up from the soil underneath your beds.

Yes, you did see what I did there. Did you notice with the Sig Legions that I talked about DA/SA and SAO variants of the P226 and 229 in 9MM and .40? That would only yield 8 Sig pistols. You've inspired me to drop all pretense and go for 4 more Sigs: a DA/SA and an SAO in .357 Sig in both the P226 and 229 Legion variant. Thanks for your help, tim![emoji12]
This little guy wants to play too...just too cute to leave in the gun store.

We do not have poor soil here. I do not have to get manure, sort of home grown! 🐎 🐎
Wish I could get them to apply in the right areas ! They want to do it on their schedule?
Earthworms we have plenty of ! When it rains enough the robins enjoy a feast on the surface! Otherwise they hop, stop, and listen! Of course with earthworms , that means grubs, and between the two, the moles are healthy! 😖 We also have a healthy crop of rabbits, so the owls are fat! A few squirrels for variety. As we have a lot of mature spruce trees growing together, cuts down on mowing, but you could hide emus, and elephants. But we have enough eagles around so maybe the emus stay away?

Let's put today's 1945 Okinawa entry on a new page:

May 19, 1945

GQ lasted intermittently from 0236 to 0454. The raids are nothing more than nuisance aircraft. Again the ship was covered with smoke. The men remain at their guns for long periods of time. Tomorrow I shall implement a new GQ plan tried before and discarded. From now on we shall go to GQ as ordered but when covered with smoke most stations will be secured. Exceptions will be the conn, the smoke generator, and a partial engine-room watch. With the men getting so little sleep, they are unable to carry out the mission of the ship during the day. Nerves are on edge and this snapping at one another is not good. In spite of persistent reports of inclement weather, the squall did not hit until this morning. Fortunately the showers and gusty wind that blew in dissipated as the wind veered to the west. Another cold front is expected tonight with winds and rain.
