Good morning drift, hope everyone had a good night. Summer time here today going to be 90/90,hot and humid. Wish the humidity would go down a little so the ground would dry up a little quicker,I think it is so wet it is drowning a couple of small orange trees I planted and nursed through drought. If I was younger I would plant an orchard and try all the different fruits that Texas A&M has developed for growing here. I find it fulfilling growing things. Drift on!

Good morning everyone,,,,,Happy Thursday! Nice day in the making here! Sun is shining and low temperatures here again this morning,57 degrees! good sleeping weather! ;) But then why am I up already?
Expecting the construction gang this morning to start the repairs on my deck. Can't wait until this is over and done with! As I probably said before this deck is about 26 years old so I got my money out of it for sure! But it's time for necessary and much needed repairs! :)
Hey vonn forgot to mention,,,that sure was a nic rack you were showing, was that you or the customer holding it ?
Well time to get out for another cup of coffee! :D

pawngal I'm cranky too. Danged summer cold. Weather finally turns nice and I feel like yesterday's hangover
Yesterday 11:27 PM

PG,,,Feel better soon"..... :)

Skeptic 9c Timmber Wolf the Wonder coach sitting comfortable in a small slot on the hillside in VA. We visited the USMC National Museum today,

Geoff, the Marine museum is really something to see! Since my SIL was one he took us there, I really enjoyed it and I learned some things about the Marines I never knew!
Hope the Motorhome is working well! ;)

Occasionally on my walks I see things that are amazing. This morning I came across a bird of prey that I had never seen before in Houston. I thought I knew what it was and confirmed it online that they are in the area. I heard a commotion, saw it on the ground, then it moved to a tree, as I approached that tree it moved to another tree and I saw it had a rat in its talons.

An immature Bald Eagle. Cool bird and a special sighting for me. I'll remember this morning's walk.

Yo Chuck, doncha know you gots to gun the Audi and fly over the holes? Helluva way to swap rides. You have the deep window tint and the spotlight?

Right there with you Vonn, 90 / 90 the norm down here, just been extra soggy since Colin wandered by... still streaming from the Yucatan to the Bahamas, wondering how Walkin' Jack will fare on his trip.
By the way, I'm hoping that is not you with the antlers. Feels awkward telling a fella "Nice rack!".

Hey P-gal, Benadryl and your favorite spirits!
Hope you feel better.

Bigride, your pants are too tight. No room for the spare. Picked up a screw in a rear tire, plugged it and it began to leak a week later. Tried to get a tire shop inside patch job but it was too close to the sidewall. Bought two new tires to replace one barely a quarter the way through their lifespan. Have the good one in my trunk the last two weeks wondering if I'll keep the car long enough to make finding a rim to make a full size spare worthwhile.
Decisions, decisions.

Lok,that was the customer holding the horns,South Texas buck. Kwselke,I have some Bald Eagles that nest near my shop that have had young the last couple of years. Bald Eagles have made a huge come back and I have seen them all over Texas.

The last one I had seen was out your way, standing on the side of 290 between Waller & Hempstead. This one was just off Woodway in Tanglewood, close to the Houston Country Club Golf Course, Buffalo Bayou, and Second Baptist Church. It was in somebody's yard, a small yard (for Tanglewood) at that. I see a lot of hawks around town, but eagles are rare to me.

I'm Tired

I'm tired of being bored, I'm tired of not being rich, I'm tired of no female attention, I'm tired of cooking, I'm tired of eating out, I'm tired of cutting grass, I'm tired of maintaining 6 cars, I'm tired of maintaining a house, I'm tired of worrying about my blood sugar, I'm tired of everything on TV, I'm tired of being out bid on everything I bid on by $1, I'm tired of complaining, I'm tired of hearing other people complain, I'm tired of going to the grocery store, I'm tired of cell phones, I'm tired of dealing with my stupid prosthetic leg,

Did I Mention I'm Tired?

But on the Bright side? I'm still dirt side up and able to complain about being tired!!

Pawngal:

A batch of Tennessee Black Jack Dainels, honey and a tiny bit of Lemmon Juice! Two swigs before bedtime. And you'll either wake up refreshed or wake up wanting more?

It'll cure what ale's ya! Allot better than chicken soup!

It's a Old Tennessee Cure All!

Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey is a favorite of mine, think I will try that Rx tonight. But trust me, it will be more than two swigs!

Heat advisory here for the next several days, mid to high 90's and high humidity, ugh!

My dad always used to say it's good for what ails you and if nothing ails you it's good for that too

I had lunch at the NRA Cafe' Hot Pastrami on Rye with a side of fried onions. My Lady Wife had the entre' and baked potatoe. Despite the website the place is not RV friendly. I'll need my TV antenna replaced, but I have taken a quick overview of the collection and I looked at the ones of interest to me personally. Then we went to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, for those not familiar it's one of the Smithsonians Aircraft collection. Many unusual A/C some last of their kind. Arado Ar 234B and Dornier DO-335 A-1 to drop a couple of names.

Whose wife stayed in the Coach at the hanger, I should have taken PoGoGo, oh my LEGS!

Bigride, how's the quality of the Great Eastern knife? I used to hear good things about them but haven't seen any comments for a while.

I was a great fan of the old, good Schrade Old Timers (before the company folded, the name was bought by Taylor, and production was moved to China) and the Queen D2 series. Before Camillus went under they made pocketknives (I know, the cognoscenti call them "slipjoints", but they've been pocketknives to me for over seventy years) for damn near everybody including Buck, Cold Steel and Moore Maker. I had some of each of those brands--good knives.

Finally took some pictures today of my S&W revolvers
that's been acquired since my retirement.

Left to right, Model 13-1 four inch w/Targets
Model 18-2 combat masterpiece with Targets
Pre-18 combat masterpiece with original grips
and box from 1953
17-3 with 8 3/4" tube (all target)
model 17-2 shooter grade 90%

Yes, they all get shot. No safe queens for me.

I'm trying to concentrate on .357 and .22 cal.
Also have picked up a Colt Trooper 6" .357
and a pinto model 19-6 with 2 1/2" barrel.

Top is model 19-6 snub Pinto .357 with Culina combats
Middle is Colt Trooper .357
Bottom is the model 17-2

Pre-18, and the long barreled 17-3, and 6" 17-2

The 13-1 top, and the 18-2 bottom both 4"

Chuck

I only have a couple, and I am no expert...but the GEC's seem like quality to me, and they don't cost a million dollars. I really enjoy the old school look but still have a lockblade. I will post a cruddy picture of my osage orange a little later.

Just pretend this is hwitty.
