Let's See:

I just cooked a GIANT breakfast. Amish country ham, scrambled Amish organic brown eggs, Amish Bacon, Amish country smoked sausage, canned Grand Biscuits. And when I went yesterday to the Amish Country Store, I got some Bradley Mators. These are the best tasting Mators of the season so far. Real vine ripened Bradley's. They are a deep reddish purple. Absolutely delicious! Medium size, perfect size to dice of slice for sandwiches.

I also came to the conclusion, that I HATE all weedeaters. About three years ago I bought the Best Craftsman 2 cycle straight shaft. And only used it 2-3 times because, I was having a mower service do my yard. I only used it in between mowings or for touch ups. So it still looked Brand New. So I get it out a couple of months ago, couldn't make it start. Tried cleaning the carb, of course I changed the fuel. Even tried another fuel mixture, changed the spark plug. Nothing. I pulled and pulled till my guts hurt. So I went to Sears and bought a Electric Starter (it has the attachment built in) still wouldn't start. So I drag the weedeater bask to a Sears Service Center. Now, mind you, it still looked Brand New! Just a little grass stains on the cutting housing. Take it into Sears, the guy says it'll be $99 to check it out, plus any parts needed and will take two to four weeks for the repair? Plus tax? I only gave something like $139 for it new? So I got my money back on the Electric Starter Thingie and told him to throw the weedeater away in their dumpster. He said "I can't do that". So I got my refund and walked out. Leaving the weedeater. So I guess he did "Do That"! I left it. The Craftsmen weedeater I had before that one lasted me about 7 years of hard use. Never a issue! It finally had such low compression, it got hard to start, but would still start, using starting ng fluid. I like the Craftsmen, because of the single easy to use string. But, I'm assuming now they're like Bic Lighters and Kia's (sorry Bic Lighter Owners)? Meant to be Disposable!

So fast forward to Fathers Day this year. I went to Home Depot (June 11th to be exact) and used the money the kids gave me for Fathers Day and bought a Ryobi 40 volt electric weedeater, it came to $172 with tax. And had a 5 year warranty, and a in store 90 day complete money back refund. I thought, Waa Laa, no more pulling my guts out. No more mixing gas. I used it three times and the battery wouldn't even do what little trimming I needed to do and then completely stopped charging, even following the owners manual to a T! So I took it back and got my money back yesterday evening. I give up! And don't know what to do? I guess I'll look into a good commercial type 4 cycle??

I HATE Weedeaters!

Check out the Stihl models. Grass Trimmers & Weedeaters | Reviews | STIHL USA I have a friend that swears by his trimmer and three Stilh chain saws (small, medium, and large).

Mechanic in a Bottle

Mechanic In a Bottle | B3C Fuel Solutions

I have been using this product in my small engines, 2 and 4 cycle, when they are reluctant to start or no start. Recommended to me by the local NAPA store owner also a mechanic. Most problems seem to be caused by ethanol fuel, so also make sure that gasoline used in the small engines is non-ethanol. So far it has worked! Don't use as an additive, use per directions. One ounce per gallon on poor running engines, and two ounces per gallon on non-running engines. Drain fuel in rank pour the mixture in, cycle by hand to get mixture in, let sit at least 15 minutes, and so far success without a rebuild or replacement of carburetor parts. Shows available at the big box stores also.
Sure will find a problem with something that requires a rebuild, but knock on wood!
Agree with others that the older equipment seems to have a lifespan, and much of the newer built stuff has a day span! 😞

I vote for the Stihl products as well. We use them hard in Texas and they take it! When I have needed parts they were available and reasonable. I think that the places that sell them are required to service them but I am not sure of that.

I'm Wondering?

Why is it OK for Wifey to barge in on me when I'm using the bathroom? Knowing good and well I'm in there. Just to put something stupid away, or to put towels up. WHY, couldn't she wait 5 extra minutes to put towels away? It don't matter what I'm doing, number one or two. She thinks it's fair game. I think she gets some kinda kick out of barging in? I don't say anything I just give her a "your stupid" look. She knows.

But if I accidentally walk in on her, when she forgets to lock the door. Lord Forbid, all HELL breaks loose and me never knowing she's in there. She pitches a total hissy fit, cussing and screaming. We have 2 1/2 bathrooms. I mainly only use our master bedroom bathroom for privacy. And I never lock the door. I shouldn't have too. I'm kind'a claustrophobic? Even at doctors appointments, I make em leave the door cracked. She is well aware of all this.

I guess I need to start locking the door? But I still say, I shouldn't have too, when she knows good and well I'm in there.

I will check into Stihl again. My favorite Ace Hardware Store is a Stihl authorized dealer. But about 6 months ago I asked em about a Stihl 4 cycle and they said they're 4 cycle, you still needed to mix oil and gas? I asked why, because that sounded stupid? They said it had valves like a four stroke, but used two cycle fuel? Don't make allot of sense. And I asked about they're Battery powered weed eaters and they are very expensive and special order and battery is sold separately? That makes it Very Very Expensive. But the Stihl 2 cycle comes with a 4 year warranty if you buy a case of Stihl 2 cycle oil ($29) when you purchase the product. Otherwise, it's only two years. And the good thing, the Hardware Store is only about a mile away from the house.

Or I may bite the bullet and get a Honda 4 stroke. About $400'with tax. Ouch! And only a two year warranty.

Did I mention I Hate Weedeaters?

I never had any luck with two cycle edgers myself. Some years back I purchased a Honda four stroke, & it still runs good. It is a little heavier than most two cycles, but back in the day that didn't bother me at all. Truth be told, I got a kick out of it being Honda Racing Red, & it being four stroke.

Annoyed at Drift Day !

Thunderstorm passing over, lots of lightening around, Spark Alert on my phone shows strikes within 1/2 mile, rumbling of thunder, and a fair amount of rain in a short period of time, but nothing untoward so far? Sitting on the front porch enjoying an aspect of summertime ! ☔ ⚡
Perused some of the other parts of the forum. Seems to be some unsettlement in the masses? Some grumbling, some why did you say this or that, well I meant this or that, use this, don't do that, well I never, yes you did, etc. 🚼
Watching two squirrels chase each other up and down an oak tree next to the porch, chirping and squeaking at each other, but generally just being squirrelly! 😉
Maybe all the electricity in the air has made life here just calming. 🐢
Hope everyone's Sunday drift is going well! 😁

Weedeaters

Shindiawa, last name in stringtrimmers. Bought one , 22f homepro bout 30 years ago, cant kill it . Missus took possession
of it for trimming on the old farm. Bought a new straight shaft shindiawa for a replacement here at home, first to start last to quit. the old 22f had the daylights pounded out of it and it will not give up. I would like to live long enough to wear out a dozen of 'em and it looks like I won't outlast one of the somenaguns. Best fuel additives we've tested is Kenetic's K100.
